Shannon Forest is very excited to offer a music partnership this year with The Palmetto Fine Arts Academy.  Private and ensemble style lessons in ALL woodwinds, brass, and percussion, including the STOMP industrial percussion group, can be arranged at SFCS by contacting palmettofineartsacademy@gmail.com.

 String Instrument Instruction

Our Enrichment Program is pleased to introduce string instructor Chantal Haskell.  She was born and raised in the Netherlands where she trained as a classical violinist.  After moving to America she enjoyed performing with several symphonies, string quartets, and various jazz and blues groups in NC and SC. Although she still greatly enjoys performing, her true love is teaching!  Nothing gives her greater joy than sharing the love of music.  Chantal offers instruction for all stringed instruments. For more information and registration contact Chantal at chantalplays@gmail.com.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROFILE

Senior Ognjen Dukic is a True Outdoorsman!

Shannon Forest will once again begin to include a weekly International Student Profile in our Wednesday eBLAST.  This week we'd like to introduce senior Ognjen Dukic of Belgrade, Serbia. Ognjen is a first-year member of 22ft Academy.  He has been playing basketball for eight years and hopes to continue at a large college in the United States or in his homeland of Serbia.  Greenville is the smallest city in which Ognjen has lived and he is experiencing his first "neighborhood" living environment.  "I really like where I live," said Ognjen.  "It's just like the movies about the States that we would watch back home."  While he misses his younger brother, Ognjen enjoys having two friends from Serbia and a whole team of 22ft brothers!  His studies and basketball keep him busy, too.  "I really don't have much time to think about home," he added. Ognjen's favorite classes include Health and Nutrition and Marine Biology.  Whenever he can, Ognjen goes outdoors to enjoy hobbies like scuba diving, snorkeling, hunting, fishing, archery, soccer, water polo and just about any sport you can imagine!  We're glad you're here, Ognjen!
