Crusader Football Makes History!

Our Football team competed in a pre-season scrimmage on Saturday, August 23, against the Anderson Cavaliers.  Crusader Quarterback Ethan Bass connected with Jack Smith for a 30-yard touchdown AND the extra point by Caroline Stewart brought the score to 12-7. While the final score was 18-7 in favor of the Cavaliers, Caroline made SFCS history as the first female to score a point for our Crusaders!

Give a Hug to a Child in Need!

Early Childhood students will be leading the Operation Bear Hug project for the second year in a row!  This is a non-profit organization created to benefit children in crisis situations through the donation of new and gently used huggable bears or stuffed animals.

  • The bears are collected and re-distributed to agencies such as police departments, DSS and area children's homes who use the bears to offer comfort to children in crisis situations.
  • Everyone can donate!
  • This year our stuffed animal collection will not only help children in crisis, but also hungry families!
  • As Shannon Forest focuses on helping those who are hungry in the Greenville area and abroad, $1 will be donated to the Hunger Project for every stuffed animal collected!
  • In an effort to educate our students to avoid crisis situations, Officer Hill, with Greenville County Sheriff's Department, will be visiting with us on Monday, September 8, to share childhood safety tips!

Our collection begins on Tuesday, September 2, and runs through

Tuesday, September 16.

Shannon Forest Freshmen Enjoy Mystery Trip!

The 2014 freshmen class of Shannon Forest Christian School recently traveled to Seabrook Island for the annual LAUNCH trip. Students and chaperones spent time ministering alongside the local ministry, participating in team-building and leadership activities and talking about what it means to be in high school.  In particular, the group worked through the hot temperatures to white wash fences at the Windwood Farm Home for Children in Awendaw, South Carolina.

Seniors Start the Year with Retreat

Shannon Forest seniors kicked off the beginning of their final year as Crusaders with a fun day at Climb Upstate in Spartanburg.  The Class of 2015 rock climbed, "bouldered", did flips on gymnastics rings and played ping pong!  Students also learned about Senior Privileges, talked about end-of-year ceremonies and enjoyed lunch from Moe's!  They wrapped up the day with an interactive discussion about the college application process and frozen yogurt.

Juniors Plan for the Future on PURSUE College Trips

The junior class recently had the opportunity to visit Furman University and North Greenville University (NGU) as part of the PURSUE Program at Shannon Forest.  At Furman, they learned some "inside tips" into the world of college admissions and experienced what Furman has to offer.  Our students went on a tour with a current Furman student and enjoyed the all you can eat Dining Hall on campus!  At North Greenville University, students gained insight into the "North Greenville experience," as well as the advantages of attending a private, Christian college.   Our juniors got to meet several current NGU students, who provided us with a walking tour of campus.

On Sunday, September 7, and Monday, September 8, juniors will have the option to travel to Georgia or North Carolina on their second PURSUE trip. The Georgia trip will include visits to Emory University, Oglethorpe University and The Georgia Institute of Technology. Those traveling to North Carolina will tour Wake Forest University, Davidson College and be able to drive through the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
