Administration Announces Additions and Changes for 2014-2015!

Shannon Forest Christian School is pleased to announce the following changes and additions to our Administrative Team for the 2014-2015 school year.

Mr. Thomas Riddle has become a familiar face to our Upper School students and parents over the past year as he began his service at Shannon Forest in the role of Vice President and Upper School Administrator.  We are pleased to announce that he will be filling a more comprehensive role overseeing the Academic arena of our entire campus. Our PK3 - 12th Grade community will be served by Mr. Riddle's experience and vision as he directs all areas of the classroom campus-wide. Mr. Riddle's new title will be Vice President/Director of Academics.

Mrs. Amber Thompson will be a valuable point of contact for Upper School students and parents in her new role of Assistant Principal.  An Honor Graduate from North Greenville University with a Master of Education degree from Southern Wesleyan, Mrs. Thompson has been part of the Shannon Forest Community for the last eleven years. She has served as a Middle and High School teacher prior to filling her current role as Registrar/College Counselor.  Mrs. Thompson has been the organizational "brains" behind Windy Gap, National Honor Society Ceremonies, Graduation Ceremonies as well as being involved in student organizations such as Dance Team and Cheerleading Coach. As Assistant Principal, she will be working with Mr. Riddle, focusing on the areas that directly affect Upper School students in the classroom. She will also be working closely with Upper School faculty, helping oversee the day-to-day classroom needs.

Mrs. Kathryn Taylor is new to our Administrative team.  She will be serving as Director of College Counseling /Registrar.  Mrs. Taylor is a Greenville native and a University of South Carolina alumna, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Women's and Gender Studies.  While an undergraduate student, Mrs. Taylor served in the USC Admission Office as a University Ambassador and Coordinator of the Mentor Program. Professionally, she has worked as an Admission Counselor at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she worked with prospective students from six states and China. She also coordinated the Tour Guide program, planned on-campus events for prospective students, and facilitated the day-to-day operation of Tech's campus visits. She transitioned to the Office of Admission at Furman University last summer, where she recruited students from North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, DC. She is a member of the Collegiate Information and Visitor Services Association (CIVSA), has been a presenter at the annual conference, and has had the opportunity to tour over 20 different college campuses across the United States. She is professionally affiliated with the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), where she serves as the Chair of Legislative Day for the state of South Carolina. Mrs. Taylor's experience as a College Admission Counselor will be a great benefit for our Shannon Forest students as they navigate the College Application process.

Mrs. Kathy Neely will continue in her role as the Lower School Administrator and Mrs. Emily Watkins will continue as our Early Childhood Administrator. Mrs. Watkins will also be completing her Masters by serving in an elementary administrative internship.  She will be working closely with Mrs. Neely in the Lower School.

Mr. Bob Collins will continue as Shannon Forest's President and Mrs. Lori Horton will continue to serve as Executive Director.

The Administration and Faculty of Shannon Forest Christian School are looking forward to an exciting school year as we celebrate our first year as an Independent School!
