Program Notes: Winds of Romanticism

This evening's program takes Aston Magna into the future, relatively speaking, and, in the first instance, abroad. Bernhard Henrik Crusell was from early 19th-century Finland. Finnish music dating before Sibelius is virtually unknown. Finland was a bit off the beaten track, though less so than one would imagine, but the nation celebrates its culture with a rich repertoire of song and poetry. [Read more on the Aston Magna blog]
