As I had mentioned earlier once a year I photograph preschoolers who have learning differences and physical disabilities. My assistant, Alyson wrote a very insightful blog about the experience, which I recommend you read.

The  Firm

 Christian, Samson, Jones & Chisholm
Unrelated to my work with Garlington, I was hired by the designer, Jo May Salonen create photography for the Missoulian Law firm, Christian, Samson, Jones & Chisholm, PLLC.  It was a fun project since I was working with new client and we were starting from scratch. It gave me an opportunity to meet  all the staff and members of the firm.

The Wedding:

I am happy to announce I recently booked a wedding in July 2014, which means I only have one opening left in July.  I want to congratulate Heather Shannon and Scott Tucker, who also happens to be part owner of the Elk Horn Lodge, where they are getting married.

 Dear Readers,

I hope you are all well.  In anticipation of the holiday season, I have been working like an elf working on the
fine art gallery for those of you interested in
for your friends and loved ones.

This last month had me photographing in schools and law firms.

Speaking of law firms,  I would like to make a correction in the last newsletter. The law firm I had photographed for is  Garlington/Lohn/Robertson,  not Garland. My apologies to the firm and their clients for the misrepresentation.

The good news is the campaign was a big success and I was told by my client, Kingsford Communication, that I will photographing  more of their profiles in the new year.

I just finished my first "StoryWatch" film.  The image gracing the top of this newsletter is a scene from our fist film " BreakUp". The actress Rebecca Schaffer was great to work with  as she became unglued after her boyfriend tells her , it's over.  My collaborator, Geoff Pepos  and I had a blast filming and now look forward to the post production. I hope to have a small clip in my January newsletter for your viewing pleasure. I will also include more information about our new creative venture " StoryWatch."

Another scene from "BreakUp".

The big excitement of the month was the opportunity for my family and I to go see Bill Cosby perform at the Adams Center in Missoula.
For those following this newsletter, if you remember I had gotten comp tickets from Cosby and  was invited to the meet and greet before the show.  So my whole family got to meet him in person.
One of the many highlights  for me that evening was when my phone rang on the way to the Cosby show. On the other end was Bill Cosby. "Steve, stop bugging Marlene ( the liaison) about the tickets. You called her eight times (not true only twice). Now do you know how to get here?" Realizing Bill was playing with me, I responded " No, can you give me directions?" He laughed..." Got ya, look forward to seeing you and your family ."

It was very special for me to see him since it had been over 20 years and before the tragedy. I got to thank him for all the laughter he brought into my life and the opportunities. By the way, his show is great and even at the age of 76 he doesn't loose a beat. So if you get the opportunity to see his show ..  GO!!!

I don't usually include a family photos in my newsletter but the one above is pretty special. I posted this image on Facebook and got some great comments.

FACEBOOK GONE BAD Gone Good:

 Ok, another retraction. I did a little more investigating about FB and their policies about image usage. What I found out is that is that if I check off some of the privacy toggles FB cannot use or sell my images....So I a m back to posting my most " Liked" images;

Blodgett  Canyon

The above image got the most votes ( and is a available for purchase) was taken on my hike through Blodgett Canyon in Hamilton Montana. It was one of those magical hikes where the colors were peaking, the sky was stormy and you feel the change of the seasons.  A comment on Facebook was very astute and compared this photo to the work of the  famous Western painter Albert Bierstadt, nice compliment.
