 | | Dragonfly | The end of summer always brings the last flight of the Dragonflies. The above photo was taken on a family day at Lost Trail Hot Springs. I was in the hot springs and noticed two Dragonflies circling around. I ran to my car, got my camera, went back into the hot springs and watched and waited. I soon notice a pattern the dragonflies where taking and planned my shot and waited, shoot, waited , shoot, waited shoot and hoped for a lucky shot. The Wedding: Brock and Jessica.
 | | A Strong Wind |
On my way to Charlo to the wedding just before the Bison Range there was a black bear crossing the road. I stopped and watched, the bear look at me and then ran off. I wasn't sure if that was a sign but it must of been a good one since the wedding was great and the weather...well a little rain a lot of sunshine. The above image was shot by a guest who noticed the wind carrying off my strobe light and the bride try to prevent the crash. NICE SHOT. I am happy to report although the strobe hit the ground, the umbrella soften the fall and prevented any damage...I learned my lesson and tied the stand to the fence. | | Jessica and Brock |
Above was one of the hundreds of images I shot during that wonderfully cloudy/sunny/windy day in Charlo, Montana. This weekend I get the pleasure of photographing Tandra and Steve's Wedding in Tarkio Montana. I am happy to say the forecast is perfect. To see more wedding images go to : After the wedding I will be gearing up for the Neesha Catalog in a couple of weeks and fixing a fence.

Another ViewOne of my favorite challenges in photographing architectural work is finding what I call "Visual Treasures." They are perspectives in which whether they are the Architectures intentions or not make for arresting images. The image below is one of them. Chris Pardo wanted me to shoot images of the "notch" but as I pulled back a bit I framed what I would consider a surreal image. If I were to coin a cliche it would be called, Stairway to Heaven, but I prefer not to go there. Let's just say I am riffing on the Bauhaus movement. :)

Just One More My photo assistant, Alyson Booher, photographed me with her phone as I struggled through a clothes line to get the right angle of the Wren House.

Dear Readers,
Fall is upon us, the nights are getting colder, days are growing shorter and the colors are changing. There has been a lot going on since the last newsletter. The Fringe has come and gone and the planning begins for the 2014 event. Brock and Jessica are newlyweds and the Wren home is finally photographed. The image above is an example of one the images I shot over a two day period the Wren Home.
 | | The Steve and Dave Duo |
What fun! Dave and I performed in the parking garage to a dedicated and well behaved audience (no one threw any tomatoes). It went so well we got two gigs out it .... so stay tuned. Our friend, Geo, is working on a video of the performance and I will let you know when it released on Youtube or when we collect or Grammy, whichever comes first. Ya never know the weather in August but we certainly lucked out with Brock and Jessica's wedding in Charlo, even saw a black bear on the way to the wedding. Finally, the call came to photograph the Wren House for the architect Chris Pardo.
