May showers in Missoula bring June flowers and weddings. One couple, Alana and Michael, a June wedding in Florence, are getting married on their Ranch. A real Montana Wedding, with the reception at the historic Fort Owen Inn Bar in Stevensville, Montana.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Tandra and Steve at the Tarkio River Lodge just outside of Missoula. They traveled in from Portland to look at the site of their wedding and have their engagement photo taken. Coincidentally, I had gotten a call from a Portland couple, Brock and Jessica, that week who hired me to photograph their August wedding in Arlee. Montana.
If you read the " other side" of this newsletter, you are probably wondering " school photography, what's that about?"
Well, twice a year I donate my time to photograph a school of children with learning disabilities. I started this about 4 years ago when I found that the Jefferson Preschool did not have PHOTO DAY, like other schools. It had been really rewarding especially to see the smile on the children's faces during the session. I even get thank you notes from the parents. | | Early Stages of the Wren Home |
I am excited to announce that I have been hired by the Seattle architect, Chris Pardo to photograph the Wren House, in Missoula. We are trying to coordinate a shoot this summer. It is a great modern single family home and needless to say I can hardly wait to get started. Below is a photograph of the architect, Chris, whom I photographed in early stages of the construction of the Wren home, last year.

Spring in the Rockies
One of my favorite places to photograph is the area called The West Fork in the Bitterroot Montains. I have been traveling there for over 20 years taking images of the various seasons and surroundings. The image above is of the Boulder Creek.
This image can also be found on my website in the Fine Art Gallery. Check it out and if you are interested in purchasing the print go to " add to cart" and see all the choices you have to purchase this original piece of art work through FOTOMOTO. :) |

 | | Alberton Gorge |
The image above was taken after an engagement session in Tarkio, Montana. I had finished the engagement session with Tandra and Steve and was driving up a narrow dirt path and saw a break in the Forrest, revealing the Alberton Gorge with the Blackfoot river. For those photo techies, this shot is pretty much the way it looked, no real post- production, no HDR, just natural beauty. This image can also be purchased in the Fine Art Section of my web site. This month consisted of engagement shoots; School portraits; family sessions, and planning an architectural shoot. The image of the Tulips was photographed to test a new lens by Canon, the 24-70mm Ultrasonic. The tulips were sitting on the dinning room table, light was softly coming through the window so what else could I do but take a photo. This image can be purchase in the fine art prints section on my website. I seem to be photographing flowers a lot..not sure why, perhaps it the long winters and short growing season in Missoula. Most of the "weed" shots were taken with my I-phone and posted on Facebook. below is an example.
A new series has been added to the Fine Art section in my portfolio.

iPhone Pic of the Month
Each newsletter will display a photo I had taken with my iPhone and gotten the most likes on Facebook.
The big winner this month was taken after a Spring rain and a double rainbow appeared. The photograph was taken in my front yard looking at Mount Sentinal.
