ALTAR FLOWERS

If you'd like flowers placed on the altar in memory of, in thanksgiving for, or in honor of a loved one, family member or friend, please notify Cyndee Williams or the parish office. A donation of $50 is what it cost us to purchase flowers from Nolan's but we can also work with a donation you are comfortable with.

Wanted - Coffee Hour Volunteers!

If you enjoy conversation accompanied by COFFEE following Sunday service, please help us out

by becoming a coffee hour volunteer. Questions should go to Allison Standifer at adstandifer@yahoo.com

Coffee Hour is a great opportunity for fellowship after service.  Please join us for this time of sharing and getting to know each other.  We are looking for volunteers to host a coffee hour. All that is required of you would be providing a snack and making the coffee!  Please see Allison or the sign-up sheet in the common room.  Thank you!
Forward to a Friend

MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Parishioner Bob Dorn has begun the enormous task of painting the west side of the rectory. The rectory belongs
to all of us, and we applaud his leadership. Bob has enlisted the help of volunteers Tom May, Richard Hart, and Alisa West.
In the photo we see Bob atop the tall scaffolding. We can also see the "before and after" comparison!

MISSION OUTREACH
Last week we spoke about the heart of the church being its mission outreach. Of course we will continue to support our global mission involvement in Tanzania. However this weekend we will be asking everyone to help us determine this year's (and maybe beyond) local mission outreach focus. We will be looking within our local community, where we feel there are many opportunities for us to lend our support. Please give some thought to what you see as the best use of our resources here at Grace. Your input is important.

Speaking of Tanzania...have you seen the latest update from Rev. Phillip on our website Blog? Visit us at www.gracechurchna.org and leave a comment for Rev. Phillip.

September 29, 2015 -
I am doing well. I am now in the Diocese of Mpwapwa for my extension of my mission trip to Tanzania from the diocese of Tanga.  I will be working with the Bishop of Mpwapwa and the Arch Bishop of TZ Jacob Chimeldya. I will be back in Boston area on Oct. 20, 2015.
Please pray for my ministry and stay in Tanzania, for our building of our Anglican Communion between ECUSA and ACT dioceses of Tanga and Mpwapwa.
Thanks -
The Rev. Fr. Kutta
How Can I Care for Creation? Week 1:
October 4th, 2015
HOW CAN I CARE FOR CREATION?
WEEK 1: REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT - TRAVEL
1. This week eliminate one trip by automobile - ride your bike, walk, car pool, use mass transit
2. Consider a green car
3. Promote green meetings - teleconference, Skype
4. Buy and vacation locally to reduce transportation and holiday travel costs

ENHANCE YOUR SPIRITUAL FOOTPRINT
1. Reach out to a neighbor, friend or family member offering a ride or share a walk or bike ride
2. Take a few moments each day to recall an image of a gift in creation that fills you with peace. Imagine God's arms wrapped around you and say thank you.

Blessing of Animals

A Blessing of Pets will be held on Sunday, October 11th during the 10am mass.  All pets or pictures of pets are welcome.  Please have your pet leashed and/or crated for the safety of pets and people.

Autumn Gala News...
Saturday, November 14th at 6pm
red-fall-leaves-banner.jpgNewcomers to Grace Church may be wondering, "What is the autumn gala?" Our Autumn Gala is both our major fund-raiser for the year, and it is a celebration of our life together.

Over the years the parish has hosted other big fund-raising events: fall fairs; dinner theater performances called "Murder Most Musical"; and auctions. Originally held in St. George's hall here at Grace, the auctions became so popular that we soon outgrew St. George's hall! We needed more space, handicapped accessibility, and more parking!!

About this time a committee approached Gary Briggs of Briggs Nursery in No. Attleboro, and he graciously offered his space in the greenhouse for the event providing we held the event "between chrysanthemum time and poinsettia time". And so the auction transformed to the GALA!

This is our major fund raiser for 2015! For the event to be a small but dedicated group has been hard at work planning for this event:  Debbie Bordne, Chair; Sheila Deffely, Louise Thomas, Carol Howard-Pasic, Alisa West, and Alison Standifer; and at our last meeting we welcomed Judy Hague.

In order for the gala to be successful, we must attract people from the outside community. We need each and every one of you to help. How?
* by helping us advertise by placing posters in local stores and restaurants.
* By donating items for the silent auction, live auction, or the raffle.
* by donating bottles of wine for the special wine grab-bag raffle.
* By attending, and inviting your family and friends to attend
* AND by VOLUNTEERING FOR FOOD PREP, OR SET-UP OR POST-GALA CLEAN-UP!
This is our only fund-raiser for this year. As always, your ticket includes the price of admission, 2 complimentary beverages (wine, beer, or soda) food, and fun.

A small but dedicated group has been hard at work planning for this year's event.  New members are always welcome.

NEW THIS YEAR!

New Music! This year we are featuring the marvelously talented Blackstone Valley Bluegrass Musicians. This group performs all over the northeast, and they have a following! Visit Google or Facebook to get a sneak preview of their wonderful sound.

New Food!  This year's menu will include everybody's favorite comfort food, and will feature several varieties of CHILI and MAC & CHEESE.

Silent Auction, Live auction, raffles and more! The committee really wants to change things up this year. So, there will be a wide variety of ways for everyone to participate.

Kids' table! A special Kid's Raffle Table will feature items that kids will be able to get for Christmas gifts for their teachers, friends, siblings, or parents.

Back this year by popular demand! Wine grab bag and also, Split the Pot.

We have set up an "Auction Central" location in the main hall, across from the parish office. There you will find item sheets which should be filled out for each item donated. This enables us to track and identify the items as they arrive.
