Coffee Hours
Our special summer coffee hours kicked off with the delicious Belgian waffles, topped with crushed strawberries and whipped cream. These coffee hours do more than whet our appetites...they give us a head start for next year's "down with debt" campaign, and there will be a special basket for your donations. By the way, we need to come up with a new theme for the campaign, so please share your ideas with us.
A Fresh Coat of Paint for Grace
Many of you may have noticed the scaffolding, ladders, and tarps stacked in the hallways of Grace. One of the positive things to come out of the grueling storms of this past winter is that we have been able to paint walls in classrooms, in stairwells, and even the floor of St. George's Hall, all damaged by the melting water from ice dams. Bob Dorn and Alisa West have taken on this enormous project, and how lucky we are to have their professional experience. Be sure to check out Sherry's office, which now boasts walls of sage green.
Bob has also proposed to us that he would like to try scraping, priming, and painting one exterior wall of the rectory. We would have to provide the pain, and he would take care of the rest. Circumstances are such that Phillip's family is not able to move into the rectory at this time, and they are still hoping to do so in the near future. The painting of the wall would certainly be a morale booster, and a glimpse of what the future might hold in store for our rectory. Thank you, Bob, for your kind and generous offer.
Celebrating 30 years of Ministry!
We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating Rev. Skip Almon's 30th anniversary of becoming a deacon. While Skip has had other careers in his lifetime, his true calling has been to being a deacon, first in the Diocese of Rhode Island, and now here at Grace. A special coffee hour will follow this service.
