Register for Parent/Student-Led Conferences

Trimester 2 Parent and student-led conferences are scheduled for next week Monday, March 4, and Tuesday, March 5. Trimester Reports will go home this Friday, March 1. 

 

No classes will occur on these two conference days, but childcare is available through TED for $65/day. Please contact TED Director Alyssa Marder for details. Click here to sign-up for your

Did You Miss Spring Enrichment Registration?

The deadline for Spring Enrichment Registration has been extended until this Friday, March 1. Students can choose from Old School Outdoor Games, Trinity Steppers, Drama Mamas, TES Junior Chefs, Chess Club, Kempo Karate, Charlotte Fencing Academy, Legos and many more! Grandfriends' Day Forms

Please be on the lookout for this year's Grandfriends' Day information forms in your student's report card this Friday, March 1. 

 

Grandfriends' Day is always a memorable day at Trinity! Grandparents and special friends (aunts, uncles, neighbors, etc.) are invited to spend the day at Trinity and attend our Grandfriends' Day Chapel in May.

 

You must return your completed form to the Front Desk before March 13, in order for your grandparent or special friend to receive an official event invitation.

Trinity OM Teams to Compete This Weekend

Four Odyssey of the Mind teams from Trinity will compete this Saturday, March 2, at the Central Regional OM Tournament at Wingate University. These 28 students have worked tirelessly since October writing scripts, designing props and costumes, building sets and practicing their spontaneous skills to prepare for this weekend's tournament.

2013 Light the Fire Grant Recipients Announced

Our Light the Fire grant recipients for the 2013-14 school year were announced at last Friday's Light the Fire celebration! Congratulations to the following:

 

Jessica Masanotti, Communications/Alumni Relations Manager: Picture This - Capturing & Telling Stories Through Photography

Jessica will head west to Los Angeles, CA, to shadow and photograph her favorite food blogger then travel up to San Francisco to work one-on-one with a National Geographic photographer in a four-day photography workshop. Believe it or not, this is her first formal photography class and she cannot wait to bring back her new skills to Trinity as she continues to tell OUR story to the broader community.

 

Megan Postle, K-8 Music Director: Which Way to the Stage?

Megan will spend time in New York City this summer taking technical and dance classes, participate in workshops on musical performance, stage technology and choreography, and see several Broadway performances. She plans to bring back this experience to our lower and middle school classrooms.

 

Mandy Rencher, Gr. 4 Teacher: Geology - Can You Dig it?

Mandy will travel to Arizona and Utah on a National Geographic Expedition where she will study geology, rocks and minerals in the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. She looks forward to enriching the fourth-grade science curriculum and sharing her knowledge and resources with lower and middle school classrooms.

Visit Park Road Books this Weekend for Seuss-a-Thon

Trinity families are invited to Park Road Books this Saturday, March 2, 11am-3pm, to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with a Seuss-a-Thon reading event. Local authors and friends will take turns reading aloud Dr. Seuss' books and families can enjoy a 20% discount off his books for the day. Park Road Books is located in the Park Road Shopping Center, 4139 Park Road. 

 

First-grade Thanks YOU!

Our first-grade classes thank you for helping collect more than 35,000 aluminum can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House! We will continue to collect tabs, so please drop them off in the containers outside our classrooms. Thank you for your support!

Middle School ACT Diversity Conference

On Thursday, March 21, 8:30am-1pm, the 2013 Affirming Community Together (ACT) MS Diversity Conference will be held at Charlotte Latin School. We have 15 spots available for Trinity middle school students. This year's workshops are designed to engage, educate and empower MS students to honor themselves and build more inclusive communities. High School students who attended the NAIS-sponsored Student Diversity Leadership Conference have come together to create this invaluable experience for MS students. Trinity MS students should complete this Online Application Form before 1pm on Thursday, February 28, to be considered.

 

America I Am

Trinity's middle school classes will visit the "America I Am" exhibit at the Harvey B. Gantt Center this month. This exhibit celebrates nearly 500 years of African American contributions to our world.
