Make it a Fair Trade Holiday Season!

And of course, if you're in the Greater Rochester (NY) area, you can visit our "International Marketplace" at 2542 Ridgeway Ave 14626 - but only thru Saturday December 29th! For the holidays we've linked up with fellow Fair Trade suppliers to offer a wider variety of products, including unique jewelry composed of Nicaraguan pottery, paper bead jewelry from Uganda, rain forest seed jewelry from Costa Rica, and hammocks from Nicaragua.

There's Still Time...
 ...but not a lot!
As we mentioned above, our "brick and mortar" KVI International Marketplace is only open until 6pm on Saturday December 29th.
But if you want us to ship your holiday presents, the time available is much shorter!
- USPS First Class mail MUST be mailed by Thursday December 20th to ensure arrival by Christmas Eve.
- Priority Mail gives you an extra day (Friday 12/21) and
- Express Mail until Saturday 12/22.
But for us to process your order and ensure it gets to the Post Office on time, we MUST have it by the morning of that cutoff day!
Both eBay and our own site give you the ability to ship direct to the recipient and we'll ship it with a packing list only (no prices).

We have a winner!
It was a tough decision this month, but "cuteness" won out over "beauty"! Besides, this young musician is holding TWO (2) KVI products - a pan flute that she got last year and (in her right hand) an ocarina (clay flute) that is this year's addition. (I think she has a musical "thing" going!)

What's a Kroma?
 I'm glad you asked!
Kroma is a traditional Cambodian scarf. It can be worn as a loosely wrapped head covering (warding off bugs, but helping to cope with oppressive heat), around the waist, or over the shoulders.
We've recently started working with VillageWorks in Cambodia which, among other products, produces these hand-woven kroma. We'll write more about VillageWorks in a future newsletter.
Of course, you might not need a head covering, but these cotton scarves are perfect for a waist sash or a light-weight neck scarf. They're available on our site in 10 color combos for only $18 each! |
The Last Word... Greetings!
Well, THIS newsletter ended up coming out a lot later than we expected! It's been a whirlwind around here since Thanksgiving. With the International Marketplace going to seven days a week and a number of "outside" events, sometimes we feel like we're meeting ourselves coming and going!
Now we've finished all of our "outside" events and (like all of you) trying to find the balance between work and enjoying the holiday season. We trust YOUR holiday celebrations will be joyous and blessed, regardless of how you celebrate them. Please make time to enjoy your family and friends and to reflect on the wonder of this holiday season.
