When it's hot it is HOT, and when it is not it is RAINING...welcome to the Summer of 2013!!
Registration for the Fall Sports season continues for the next two months. Now is an excellent time to sign up. We reach capacity in many of the U11-19 age groups and some of the Grade 1-4 age groups by mid-August, so signing up early is the best plan for making sure your child can participate.
The final numbers for Spring 2013 exceeded all previous ABGC participation records. Thanks to all of you for your continued support and encouraging others to play for ABGC.
Cheerleading, Field Hockey, Football, Soccer, and T-Ball are again offered as the traditional Fall Sports. Early signup for football (act fast, only until July 15) will get participants a $10.00 discount, so don't wait if your child is playing football. More information and links can be found below.
The ABGC has a new soccer program starting this Fall for disabled athletes ages 5-18 called Top Soccer. Details and links can be found below.
The first two Soccer Day Camps are complete and both were oversubscribed, so now is the time to sign up for the final camp: August Day Camp. Full information and links can be found in the "Soccer Day Camp" section below.
The ABGC is offering the Atlantic Soccer Camp for the 30th consecutive year. The camp will occur from August 4th - 9th, 2013 for players ages 8-17. It will be a chance for players to work directly with top Men and Women coaches and several former professional players. Individual player skill development occurs quickly in this comprehensive, one week overnight camp. Links to full details can be found in the Soccer Resident Camp section below.
Finally, congratulations are in order for five of ABGC's travel teams, details follow in the next section.

In the US Youth Soccer 2013 Region I Championships held at the University of Rhode Island:
- The U13 Girls ABGC Premier 99 team went 1-1-1 in their group
- The U18 Boys Annandale Knights FC also went 1-1-1 in their group
- In both cases, these teams were the only Virginia team in their group in this highly competitive tournament
In the National Soccer Cup XII Southeast Regional Championships held in Greensboro, NC:
- The U16 Boys ABGC United Spartans won the under 16 Boys Super Group Bracket with a 2-1 win over the ASA Blackhawks from Arundel, MD.
- The U17 Boys Annandale Hawks won the
Under 17/18 Boys Super Group with a 2-1-0 record. - Both teams will advance to the National Cup XII Finals to be held in Aurora, Colorado July 18-21, 2013

Fall Sports
 Cheerleading
For girls ages 5 -13, they cheer the fall football games on Saturdays and some Sundays at Mason District Park, Annandale High School, and various local schools.  Field Hockey
The ABGC field hockey program is for new and experienced players in grades 3-8. For the Fall of 2013, we will hold Sunday evening clinics starting August 25 and ending on October 27. Registration fee for the Fall of 2013 is $98 in the office and $93 online. Early Registration is now open and will continue until July 15, 2013 at a rate $10 less than Late Registration. Late Registration will be open from July 16 to September 1, 2013. Soccer
Recreation Soccer Pre-K to Grade 4 is for Mitey Mites who will enter Kindergarten in September 2014 and for boys and girls in K through 4th grades. Teams are coed through Kindergarten. There is an 8-10 game season.
Every player is guaranteed to play half or more of every game regardless of size or physical ability. Teams are formed on a school and neighborhood concept by grade level.

Recreation Soccer for u11-u19 (under 11-under 19) ages is for boys and girls ages 10-18. There is an 8-10 game season. Every player is guaranteed to play half or more of every game regardless of size or physical ability. Players can play for both high school and recreational. Travel players cannot play recreational. Top Soccer is a new program for the Fall of 2013. This program is for athletes with disabilities Ages 5 - 18. All games will be held at the Sprague Center, located at 4414 Holborn Ave. Annandale, VA 22003. The season will start on Sunday 9/8/13 and run from 4 - 5 pm for 8 weeks. Players will receive a Tee Shirt for participation. This program is run in conjunction with the Jewish Community Center.

 T-Ball
T-Ball is for Mighty Mites who will enter Kindergarten in September 2013 and for boys and girls in K through 2nd grades. The season is an 8-10 game season. Season begins in September and runs through Mid November. Practices will be one hour after school, and games will be played on Saturday.
No child is ever denied for lack of funds.

30th Annual Atlantic Soccer Camp
ABGC and the area's top coaches combine to provide instructional soccer camps for the recreational and competitive level player ages 8 to 18. The camp will be held at Cape Henlopen State Park "At the Beach" in Lewes, Delaware from August 5th-10th, 2012.
Creative and challenging activities provide a FUN atmosphere for your child(ren) to develop/refine their soccer and sportsmanship skills. Campers train in small groups, or by teams based on age, ability but ultimately their "comfort zone."
Three sessions a day - A morning session after breakfast, afternoon following lunch and an evening session after an ocean swim and dinner!
