  April 2013
Greetings!

What a crazy, busy year this has been! I can't believe it's already April.

Because we are the largest Fast ForWord provider in Canada, late last year Scientific Learning reclassified us as an International VAR. We are now part of a group comprised of individuals who represent Scientific Learning products in over 40 other countries. In January, Ross and I went to Shanghai, China for the annual VAR Conference where we learned so much about how Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant are used to improve learning, reading, and English language development.

With what we learned in China about English language learning, we decided to expand with a new office in Richmond. We take possession on May 1 and will begin interviewing potential employees the following week.

We will have summer programs in both Langley and Richmond. More information will follow in the next few weeks.

Included in the price is a 90-minute parent meeting (usually just a few days later) to go over the results.Read more.

What's My Name Contest
Congratulations go to Lexi Russell for coming up with the name Sebastian for our new monster. Lexi received a $100 Chapters gift card.

Thanks to everyone who submitted names. The creativity and thoughtfulness that went into some of them was pretty amazing. It was a difficult decision but Ross and I kept coming back to Sebastian and it just feels right.
NEW Richmond Location - Opens in May
The new office is on Shell Road near Alderbridge Way (which turns into the East-West Connector). It is just 10 minutes from New Westminster, South Vancouver, and North Delta.

Welcome New Employees
We are very pleased to announce that we have recently hired two new employees in Langley.

Jennifer Berger is our new full-time Office Manager and Computer Lab Supervisor. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of General Studies with five minors (Special Education, Education, Theatre, English, and Religious Studies). She also has a Liberal Arts diploma. Jennifer is smart, funny and cute. The kids really love her.

Sonya Nijjar is our new part-time Computer Lab Support Person. She helps out with the after-school kids and will work with us for the summer. She'll be going back to school in the fall. Sonya has just completed the third year of a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences degree with a major in Geography and a minor in Economics.
Spring is gearing up to be pretty exciting for us. We have a new look, new mascot, new location, and the addition of web-based Reading Assistant for our Fast ForWord clients. It is going to be a fun summer.
