Important Surescripts Compliance Notice:

Please read in its entirety.

This letter is to inform you that immediate upgrade action may be required to ensure that customers are Surescripts compliant and able to continue sending electronic prescriptions without interruption. Per a notification from our e-prescription partner, Surescripts, customers must be utilizing our latest release of Practice Partner®, Medisoft® Clinical or Lytec® MD to maintain use of the Surescripts service. If a customer is not on a current release AND are transmitting prescriptions, the format in which they are sending prescriptions is not compliant with the ANSI 5010 A1 standard mandated by HIPAA and their service will be impacted. To support this standard and ensure continued usage of e-prescribing, you must upgrade all customers to the latest release inclusive of all patches as outlined below:

* Lytec® MD 2011 SP1
* Medisoft® Clinical v17 SP3
* Practice Partner® 9.5.2 SP2

We request that you complete these upgrades no later than December 15,2012. Surescripts monitors these transactions and failure to upgrade by December 15, 2012 will result in customers' e-prescribing feature being disabled.

The latest software releases include the required format for electronic prescriptions, which utilizes the ANSI complaint version known as 5010 A1 transactions.
