Updates from the Beach

  • We lost power on Mamacock seconds after sending the last update --- around 12:30 PM.  We heard crews were on site on Giants Neck Road where there was a downed tree, but no restoral.
  • The full moon provides some eerie illumination!  The rain is off and on. Strong easterly winds continue to force surges over the Main Beach wall onto the causeway.
  • The lower pond is much higher than normal.  It appears that the ocean surge is forcing water back up through the pipes, in addition to water flowing over the road.
  • Peak tide is within the hour!
