From the Provincial Minister
|
NEW YORK - Last weekend I had the great honor to receive the first vows of three our brothers - Dale, Josh and Jay - who have just completed their year of novitiate and take this next important step in their vocational journey.
It is hard to not be moved by these encounters. I can't adequately describe the joy that was on each of their faces as they promised to live in obedience, without anything of their own and in chastity for the next year as they enter the time of temporary profession. But, I can say it was contagious.
They each clearly had a deeply spiritually moving time of novitiate. They have each grown as men and as brothers. They each are so ready to move into this next step. And, it left me feeling renewed as well. If only we could all maintain the same joy in our own religious calling as each of them has today.
On behalf of each member of our Province, I extend my deepest and joy-filled congratulations to our brothers on their First Profession. They know how close they are to each of our hearts in prayer for their continued perseverance in our way of life.
As you will see in this issue of Inter Nos, we will also have a Province celebration for them before they head off to Rome to begin their studies. I strongly encourage every friar to make every effort to be with us. We'll gather at Mount Alvernia in Wappingers Falls on Saturday, September 26 for a Mass of Thanksgiving and a festive meal.
These are the most important moments in our life together as brothers and it is so important that we be there to share their joy and be renewed ourselves as well.
Additionally, our General Visitator Br. Niall O'Connell will also be present at this celebration, so it will be a chance for the great majority of friar to meet him for the first time as he begins the visitation.
Congratulations Dale, Josh and Jay!! Ad multos annos!!
Fraternally, |
