This two-part session will discuss the importance of the job coach in maximizing student independence, competence and confidence in employment.
Part One will cover the basics, including tips for the job coach on how to help the student fit into the workplace; encourage and engage natural supports; and create a plan of what to teach based on a job analysis.
Part Two will expand upon the first session to include strategies for instruction, collecting data on performance, and planning long-term support on the job once the job coach fades from the workplace.
