Ffyler Place Redevelopment

A Public Forum to discuss the redevelopment of the Ffyler Place lumberyard area took place on November 14th at the Suffield High School Auditorium.  Approximately 50 people attended.

The redevelopment entails a former lumberyard and possibly the Town's highway garage.  In 2004 the land was rezoned from Industrial to Town Center Village District. This new zoning designation allows this area to be developed with a mix of retail, office and housing components. This is a key area to help create a vibrant center for the community and help generate new property tax revenue.

A market analysis for the 30 acre redevelopment site in Suffield Town Center was conducted by Camoin Associates, an economic analysis firm from Saratoga Springs, NY.  The analysis suggests that residential apartments, medical office, local serving retail and a pharmacy use are appropriate for this property.  Camoin Associates presented their findings at the forum.  The study was funded in part by a $10,000 grant from the Connecticut Main Street Center's "Preservation of Place" program.

Please come and SHOP LOCAL at Fox and Lily Gifts located at Lily House Bed and Breakfast, 13 Bridge Street, Suffield CT.    Also, please contact Fox and Lily Gifts if you have product that you make or craft, and would like included in the shop.

Our specialty will be gift baskets, but all components in gift baskets can be purchased separately.   All glasses and plates are hand painted and unique; we will feature theme baskets and hostess baskets from $20 to $250.00, and we can help you design your own.    Our signature basket will be "A Basket Full of Connecticut", with all items being made in Connecticut.   This item will be a perfect gift  from businesses to customers to express their "thank you" or "best wishes", but do it "locally".
