Confirm Not Conform Open House Sunday Night
St. Matthew's and St. Mark's will once again be offering the Confirm not Conform (CnC) confirmation program for youth.  This program is for all young persons who are at least incoming 7th graders when the program begins this fall.

Confirm not Conform is focused on helping young people ask tough questions and search out the answers. Through innovative sessions, mentor relationships, service opportunities, overnight retreats, and the challenge to do a whole lot more than just learn a few facts, CnC lets youth take real responsibility for understanding their faith and its power. When they do - when they see the church and faith as something that truly belongs to them - it can build bonds that last.

At the end of the two-year program, as a sign of their ability to take charge of their own spiritual life, each youth chooses whether or not to be confirmed. All participants, whatever their decisions, are honored in a special service dedicated to their work, exploration, and discoveries.

We'd like to invite you to a special

CnC Information Session which will be held on Sunday, August 24 at 6:15pm in the Assembly Room at St. Matthew's. This will be your opportunity to hear about the program and to ask questions.  You can also find out more about the program at www.confirmnotconform.com.

Help Make Our Worship Happen
During the program year, from September to May, it takes more than 50 volunteers each week to make our Sunday services happen, and you are invited to join their ranks. If you have interest in welcoming people to St. Matthew's, proclaiming the Scriptures, leading the Prayers of the People, helping serve Communion, or offering prayers for healing at our Sunday morning services, please contact Beau Surratt at [email protected] and he can get you more information about what these ministries entail and how you can get set up with training.
Among Our Community

Please send news about awards, new positions, life passages and other important events in your lives for this section of This Week at St. Matthew's to [email protected].
