The Homeless Children's Playtime Project
November 9, 2012

Did you join us at the

Halloween Run for Fun 5K?

 Halloween 5K

Not even developing hurricane force winds could stop our ambassadors for play! On October 28th, volunteers, staff, and supporters alike joined us to celebrate Halloween and our efforts to bring play to children experiencing homelessness at our First Annual Run for Fun 5K!

Together we raised $14,387 for the children we serve!

We registered a record 280 walkers and runners this year! It was a lot of fun with costumes and early morning exercise together. Thank you to everyone who registered and convinced your family, friends and fellow volunteers to join you!

Playtime Delivers 400 Costumes &
Halloween Parties Rock the House!
Thanks to our Donors!

In the weeks leading to Halloween, donors from all over the city collected and gifted over 400 costumes to families in all six of Playtime's programs. Smiles filled the faces of children, their families, and volunteers alike as the kids put on their costumes and gathered together to celebrate Halloween!

Hurricane Sandy = An Extra Week of Halloween Fun at Playtime!

Thanks to our flexible volunteers, holiday parties at our sites were rescheduled to extend fall festivities beyond Halloween.

Playtime held six rockin' Halloween parties where children got their faces painted, trick or treated for yummy candy snacks and spooky prizes! Parents got to relax in the playroom with their children and enjoy the festivities as well!

Thanks to all our guests who came and got to know Playtime's wonderful children!

Teen Field Trip
There was no shortage of frights and sights for our teens on Halloween night!

Our October field trip brought our teens to the Hallow Inc Haunted House in Rockville!

Thanks to Joyce Roldan and the staff from Hallow, Inc., our teens went for for free!

While the kids were scared from the minute they arrived, about an hour after leaving, they were ready to do it again! Luckily, our friends at Hallow, Inc. were so pleased to have us, we've been invited to come back year after year.

Are you searching for a meaningful gift that won't get returned after the holidays?
