Membership Renewal Time 

 

It's that time of year again to renew your ISACA membership.  Here are some of the benefits of ISACA Phoenix Chapter Membership:

- Free chapter members (2 to 3 CPE, 7 meetings each year)
- Member-rate at the annual Phoenix Security & Audit Conference (7 CPE)
- Access to online materials such as COBIT 5.0, audit programs, and security standards
- Job Opening notifications from Phoenix-area companies 
 
This has been such a great for our chapter.  We exceeded 1,000 members for the first time.  We started having free chapter meetings thanks to our sponsorship program.  We also had a great membership appreciation event at an AZ Dbacks game.

In November we had our first evening meeting at the new SkySong location.  Thanks to all those who were able to attend and to our sponsors - Terra Verde Services and PwC.  Our sponsors help us make the chapter meetings free for chapter members.

 

January 23rd is our afternoon chapter meeting at SkySong.  The meeting is again free to chapter members, the topic being IT operations, maintenance, and support (register).

January Chapter Meeting Details

  

When:     Thursday, January 23, 2014
               12:00 PM - 3:30 PM (check-in beings at 11:30)  

 

Where:    SkySong Center              

               1475 N. Scottsdale Rd
               Scottsdale, Arizona 85257

 

Cost:       Free (members, $25 non-members)

Sponsor:  Terra Verde Services

Topic:      IT operations, maintenance, and support  

Lunch will be provided, 3 CPE.

Call for Volunteers

We have some specific needs for volunteers in the following committees:

- Research Committee Member - help work on chapter-driven research or International Research Committee topics, time commitment: 2 to 4 hours / month
- Sponsor Committee Member - help manage chapter sponsors so we can keep our chapter meetings free, time commitment: 1 to 3 hours / month
- Assistant Treasurer - this volunteer will help the Treasurer by performing monthly bank reconciliations, time commitment: 1 to 3 hours / month (we only have about 10 items to reconcile per month)
- Social Media Champion - we already have a chapter LinkedIn account with about 60 members, but it has not been used.  We need a communications champion who can engage that social media venue to help communicate with chapter members.  Time commitment: 2 to 4 hours / month.

If you are interested in any of the above opportunities, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.  CPE is awarded (for ISACA certifications) up to 20 hours per year. 
   
 
   
Arizona ITSM Summit

From time to time, we pass along training opportunities to chapter members.  The Arizona ITSM will hold its 6th annual Arizona ITSM Summit on April 17, 2014.

The location is the Black Canyon Conference Center and registration is free.  For additional information, please visit the Arizona ITSM Summit web page.
