Certification News You Can Use
December 2, 2014

Welcome to the December edition of "Certification News You Can Use", a monthly newsletter about certification published on the first Tuesday of each month. Each newsletter will highlight important updates regarding certification and recognize all new certified IAEDP members for each month. As the Certification Director, I appreciate the dedication and passion of all those who are pursuing advanced skills and recognition by applying for iaedp's Certification designations.

HOT OFF THE PRESS:

Always wanted to pursue the iaedp Certification but still confused about which option, Traditional or Equivalency, best fits your needs? Take time to read the "Top Five Questions about Certification":

http://www.iaedp.com/Top_5_Questions_About_Certification.pdf

If you are an iaedp member who has years of practice experience in the field of eating disorders, you may not realize that the Equivalency option is designed just for you! Your experiences are most likely the equivalent for the Traditional option's core courses, case study and exam..so take a closer look at the Equivalency checklist... http://www.iaedp.com/Equivalency_Certification_Checklist.pdf

...and commit to make Certification a reality before the close of 2014.

And if you are newly certified, stay tuned for an added bonus from iaedp: a press release template that you can use to announce your accomplishment to your professional community...coming soon!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Please make a copy of your entire application for your records prior to mailing or faxing it to the iaedp office. The certification review process can take up to 90 days upon receipt of your application before notice of your approval status is sent to you; however, the Certification Committee strives to complete the full review in less than 90 days if possible.

Become a Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp)

You deserve to be recognized and validated as an experienced clinician and iaedp is committed to helping our members! The Board of Directors and Awards Committee created the Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp), a new category of elevated membership status available to highly committed and accomplished professionals.

For consideration for elevated membership status as a Fellow of iaedp, candidates' collective contributions over time will be evaluated. Guidelines identify but are not exclusive to iaedp members of seven continuous years or more who have been in practice for a minimum of 15 years, are preferably Certified Eating Disorder Specialists and have demonstrated accomplishment and participation in the field through activities such as teaching, presentations, training, research, writing and innovative community projects. Each honoree will receive a special certificate of recognition and Fellow Members may include "F. iaedp" with his or her credentials. Award nominations and Fellow of iaedp applications are encouraged from members through forms provided online.  More information here
