Welcome to the October edition of "Certification News You Can Use", a monthly newsletter about certification published on the first Tuesday of each month. Each newsletter will highlight important updates regarding certification and recognize all new certified IAEDP members for each month. As the Certification Director, I appreciate the dedication and passion of all those who are pursuing advanced skills and recognition by applying for iaedp's Certification designations.
HOT OFF THE PRESS:
BIG news! The iaedp Board of Directors and the Certification Committee are pleased to announce a NEW CERTIFICATION for certified, licensed creative arts professionals called the Certified Eating Disorder Creative Arts Therapist, or CEDCAT.
If you have a BS (music) or MS (dance, art) from an accredited Approved Music/Dance/Art Therapy Program, the required hours of clinical training and supervised internship, and have been licensed or registered by the national Music/Dance/Art Certification Board for a minimum of two years, you are eligible for the Traditional or Equivalency option, depending on the length of time and depth of your experiences. You will find the checklist and applications at www.iaedp.com under Certification, or click on these links:

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
If you are pursuing Traditional certification, all of your 2000+ patient care hours must be supervised by an IAEDP approved supervisor(s), including the eligible internship hours (up to 500 of the total 2000).
If you are applying for OR renewing your Certification, please mail or fax the completed application to the IAEDP address or fax number on the application. Do NOT mail the application by certified or delivery signature as this will delay the process.
