The Power of Forgiveness: How to Begin Healing from Within

This presentation will focus on the concept of self-forgiveness and how it can be addressed throughout various stages of eating disorder treatment. Attendees will gain understanding of how this concept relates to the development and maintenance of eating disorders and learn skills to help increase self-forgiveness in our clients
Rebecca Grover

Rebecca Grover graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and went on to earn her Master's degree in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. 

 

Prior to joining the Eating Disorders Center at EBTCS, Rebecca served as the Program Director at the Center for Discovery in Bellevue, WA, a residential eating disorders program for adults. She has been working in the field of eating disorders since 2008 and has been actively involved giving local presentations, leading support groups, and serving on the board for the Puget Sound chapter of the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals. She is also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). 

 

Rebecca provides individual and family therapy to clients struggling with eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She provides a range of eating disorder treatments, including CBT-E, DBT-informed treatment, as well as Family Based Therapy (FBT). In addition to her clinical work, Rebecca also serves on an Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Washington and assists with the ethical oversight of social science research protocols. She is a licensed therapist in the state of Washington.

Become a Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp)

You deserve to be recognized and validated as an experienced clinician and iaedp is committed to helping our members! The Board of Directors and Awards Committee created the Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp), a new category of elevated membership status available to highly committed and accomplished professionals.

 

For consideration for elevated membership status as a Fellow of iaedp, candidates' collective contributions over time will be evaluated. Guidelines identify but are not exclusive to iaedp members of seven continuous years or more who have been in practice for a minimum of 15 years, are preferably Certified Eating Disorder Specialists and have demonstrated accomplishment and participation in the field through activities such as teaching, presentations, training, research, writing and innovative community projects. Each honoree will receive a special certificate of recognition and Fellow Members may include "F. iaedp" with his or her credentials. Award nominations and Fellow of iaedp applications are encouraged from members through forms provided online.  More information here
