Exposure and Therapy Response Prevention in the Treatment of Eating and Co-morbid Anxiety Disorders

This workshop will provide an overview of the research supporting the treatment of anxiety disorders in eating disorder clients. An overview of exposure and response prevention therapy will be provided in didactic and experiential formats, including assessment, the formation of an exposure hierarchy, and how to conduct the treatment itself.

Erin McGinty
Coordinator of Anxiety Services at Castlewood Treatment Center in Saint Louis, Missouri. She also serves as a Primary Therapist and as Program Director of one of Castlewood's residential programs. Prior to Castlewood, she worked as a therapist at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin on a residential unit specializing in the treatment of eating and anxiety disordered clients. She is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders.

Katie Thompson, MS, LPC, NCC,
Katie Thompson
has been a Primary Therapist at CastlewoodTreatment Center for two years. Previously she was a therapist at Rogers Memorial Hospital in the residential program for eating disorders and anxiety disorders.Katie facilitates various groups at Castlewood, including all of the Eating Disorder groups, is an active participant in the research team, and specializes in eating disorders, anxiety disorders, specifically binge eating disorder.

You deserve to be recognized and validated as an experienced clinician and iaedp is committed to helping our members! The Board of Directors and Awards Committee created the Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp), a new category of elevated membership status available to highly committed and accomplished professionals.

 

For consideration for elevated membership status as a Fellow of iaedp, candidates' collective contributions over time will be evaluated. Guidelines identify but are not exclusive to iaedp members of seven continuous years or more who have been in practice for a minimum of 15 years, are preferably Certified Eating Disorder Specialists and have demonstrated accomplishment and participation in the field through activities such as teaching, presentations, training, research, writing and innovative community projects. Each honoree will receive a special certificate of recognition and Fellow Members may include "F. iaedp" with his or her credentials. Award nominations and Fellow of iaedp applications are encouraged from members through forms provided online.  More information here
