Just Grow Up: Using the Developmental Model as a Foundation for the Treatment of Eating Disorders by Caryn Attianese, MA, NCC, LPC, CEDS and Cindy Elms, RDN 

The Developmental Model has powerful applications for eating disorder recovery. Identifying core issues of carried feelings, shame, and trauma is vital to understanding developmental immaturity and distorted beliefs about food. This interactive, hands on presentations will give practical tools to support a client's growth through the ego states.
Caryn Attianese

Caryn Attianese is a co-owner of Empowerment Training and Consulting (ETC) and therapist at True Reflections, a psychotherapy practice specializing in the treatment of eating disorders,trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. She has worked at at industry leading treatment centers including the Meadows, Sierra Tucson, and Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders where she was the Director of Clinical Services. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). She has spoken at various conferences and events on eating disorders and trauma.

Cindy Elms
Cindy Elms is a Registered Dietitian who is a co-owner of Empowerment Training and Consulting (ECT) and owner of Satisfied for Life- a Nutrition Education and Counseling practice. She specializes in eating disorders, emotional eating, and nutrition education for all ages. Cindy's 23 year nutrition experience includes clinical and leadership roles at Remuda Ranch, Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders and The Meadows. She is a clinical preceptor for dietetic interns and presents at various conferences and workshops. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).

Become a Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp)

You deserve to be recognized and validated as an experienced clinician and iaedp is committed to helping our members! The Board of Directors and Awards Committee created the Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp), a new category of elevated membership status available to highly committed and accomplished professionals.

 

For consideration for elevated membership status as a Fellow of iaedp, candidates' collective contributions over time will be evaluated. Guidelines identify but are not exclusive to iaedp members of seven continuous years or more who have been in practice for a minimum of 15 years, are preferably Certified Eating Disorder Specialists and have demonstrated accomplishment and participation in the field through activities such as teaching, presentations, training, research, writing and innovative community projects. Each honoree will receive a special certificate of recognition and Fellow Members may include "F. iaedp" with his or her credentials. Award nominations and Fellow of iaedp applications are encouraged from members through forms provided online.  More information here
