Utilizing Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to Address Dissociation in Eating Disorders
How do clinicians intervene with patients who dissociate when engaging in eating disordered behaviors? Discussion and experiential activities will guide clinicians on how to apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to their work in such situations. Participants will learn interventions to assist patients in experiencing cognitive, affective, and sensory experiences non-defensively.
Danielle Doucette PsyD completed her pre- and post-doctoral training in eating disorder treatment centers in the Chicagoland area. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Program Coordinator for the Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program at Insight Behavioral Health Centers in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Doucette has a special interest in treating individuals who struggle with body image and non-suicidal self-injury. She values integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and psychodynamic approaches in both individual and group psychotherapy.
Ashley Solomon PsyD serves as the Director of Eating Disorder Treatment at Insight Behavioral Health Centers in Chicago, IL, where she oversees outpatient eating disorder programming for adults. She utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in her approach to treating eating, weight, and shape concerns. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Insight, and her pre-doctoral internship training at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Her research interests are in media literacy and the use of social media in recovery. She is an active member of the Academy for Eating Disorders and serves on the Social Media Committee.

 Kelly G. Wilson, PhD is a Professor of Psychology and award winning lecturer at the University at Mississippi. He is former President of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, former Representative-at-Large of the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology, and is one of the co-developers of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He directs the University of Mississippi Center for Contextual Psychology. Dr. Wilson will present a keynote on Friday, Feb 28 at 9 am followed by an afternoon workshop from 2:50 pm to 4:50 pm also on Friday, Feb 28, 2014.

Become a Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp)
You deserve to be recognized and validated as an experienced clinician and iaedp is committed to helping our members! The Board of Directors and Awards Committee created the Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp), a new category of elevated membership status available to highly committed and accomplished professionals.
For consideration for elevated membership status as a Fellow of iaedp, candidates' collective contributions over time will be evaluated. Guidelines identify but are not exclusive to iaedp members of seven continuous years or more who have been in practice for a minimum of 15 years, are preferably Certified Eating Disorder Specialists and have demonstrated accomplishment and participation in the field through activities such as teaching, presentations, training, research, writing and innovative community projects. Each honoree will receive a special certificate of recognition and Fellow Members may include "F. iaedp" with his or her credentials. Award nominations and Fellow of iaedp applications are encouraged from members through forms provided online. More information here
