DICUSSION
Question: Are you having challenges retaining Officeholders and getting them to do their jobs? Discussion and suggestions: Would like to see rules/bylaws from national. Have regularly scheduled monthly meetings. Bi-monthly newsletters to the Officeholders. Do something soical just for the Officeholders to bond. Executive Committee retreat. An Officeholder retreat. Officeholders who "carry the load" get tired of the work and quit. Ask the Officeholders how they would like to receive communication. Set time limits as to when they must respond to your emails, text or calls. Call them if they don't respond at all. Stress that everyone needs to do their part. Have a dinner to thank those leaving the board and invite those who are coming on the board as well. Use "doodle" and vote on which meeting dates work for the majority (http://www.doodle.com/). Keep all meeting information in Google docs for easy access for all the Officeholders. Open dialogue helps everyone start the "tough" converstions. Co-chairs for the labor intensive jobs.
