Register Now for Citizens Academies
Registration is underway for the next Citizens Police Academy and the next Citizens Civic Academy.
The Citizens Police Academy is a 12 week course where participants will learn about patrol procedures, dispatch operations, SWAT operations and crime scene search, as well as many other law enforcement subjects. It will be held from August 27 to November 12, on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. An online application and more information can be found at www.nrhtx.com/CPA.
The Citizens Civic Academy is a 7 week course to familiarize citizens with the structure, functions and activities of North Richland Hills government, encourage citizens to become involved in their community, and enhance their ability to communicate effectively with city officials. It will be held from September 8 through October 20, on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. An online application and more information can be found at www.nrhtx.com/CCA.

Couniclman Lombard Elected to Board for North Central Texas Council of Governments
 Congratulations to North Richland Hills City Councilman Tom Lombard for being elected Secretary - Treasurer of the Executive Board for the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). NCTCOG works to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. NCTCOG's purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions.

Keep NRH Beautiful Honored with 3 Awards
Members of the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission accepted three awards on behalf of the North Richland Hills community while attending the Keep Texas Beautiful Conference:
- Third Place in the Governor's Community Achievement Awards for Category 7;
- Keep Texas Beautiful Sustained Excellence Award;
- Keep Texas Beautiful Gold Star Affiliate Award.

W.I.S.E. (Water Irrigation System Evaluation) Guys is a conservation program offered by the Tarrant Regional Water District to residential water customers in North Richland Hills and other communities.
