Iron Horse Bridge Now Open

The Iron Horse Bridge across NE Loop 820 has reopened.  Representatives from the City, North Tarrant Express, Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce and nearby businesses celebrated with a brief ribbon cutting this morning.

Closed since June 2012 for demolition and reconstruction, the new Iron Horse Bridge is designed to accommodate 18,000 vehicles per day, which is nearly 5 times the traffic it previously handled. Initially, one lane is open in each direction, with two additional lanes expected to open next year. Overall, work on the North Tarrant Express project is more than 70 percent complete. More information can be found at www.northtarrantexpress.com.
