Dear

EWFA is pleased to share with you the latest achievements of the association, just a few weeks away from the summer break.

EWFA held two days of internal meetings in Bucharest, Romania, in May this year. Over 25 members took part in various internal meetings (Working Groups, Board and Annual General Meeting). EWFA's Board is very pleased with the high attendance and lively discussions about the association's current activities and future direction.

The association has made a considerable effort this year with regards to raising awareness to the capabilities and performance of Window Film technology. The energy study commissioned to the Italian test house SSV is progressing well. EWFA expects to publish final results of the study by the end of 2013. In June, EWFA released a video introducing Window Film as a cost effective solution to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings in Europe. The video has been very well received by the association's leadership, members and stakeholders. The association is extremely pleased with the high view count and the positive feedback received on the video.

EWFA is working on other projects and initiatives for the second half of 2013. We hope you enjoy reading the information below. Should you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact me or our offices in Brussels.

Best wishes,

David Cox

EWFA is very satisfied with the positive reach of the video released late June. The catchy and easy-to -follow format of the video was commended by different EWFA members and counterparts. The Communications Working Group of the association is extremely pleased with the positive comments and reactions. It is very encouraging to see all the associations, company members and media that published the video on their websites and social media pages.

The video is part of the awareness raising activities of the association to raise the profile of Window Film technology in the energy efficiency debate in Brussels. In order to reach a wider audience, the video has subtitles in English, French and Spanish. Subtitles on other languages will follow shortly.

Latest EWFA Case Studies

Window Film protects wines from overheating in Whalley Wine Shop

This case study shows the example of the UK Whalley Wine Shop, where spectrally-select Window Film was installed onto all large windows in order to protect the contents, through rejecting large levels of solar heat. With wines heating up so much that corks were popping off, the shop owners needed a solution that would be cost-effective as well as aesthetically functional.

Window Film lowers energy bill and improves comfort for Royal Caribbean International
This case study shows the example of cruise line Royal Caribbean International and the works undertaken in its London headquarters to improve external appearance, increase security, and lower the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) costs. Looking for a solution to improve their overall energy efficiency, Royal Caribbean International chose to install 500m2 of solar control Window Film across the façade of their headquarters, resulting in a reduction in the HVAC costs of over 10% and payback of the upfront cost within only 3 years.

Improving the security and safety of world renowned venues - the case of the Royal Albert Hall

Being a world famous venue for concerts and one of the UK's most treasured and distinctive buildings, London's Royal Albert Hall takes security and safety as a top priority. With such an international reputation and high visibility, its staff cannot afford to ignore the threat of potential terrorist attacks.
