"Isa, son of Mary, said: O Allah, Lord of us! Send down for us a table spread with food from heaven, that it may be an Eid for us, for the first of us and for the last of us and as a sign from You." - (5:114)

On behalf of the Executive Council of NASIMCO and their family members, I extend to you and your families a warm and joyous Eid Mubarak!  

On this happy occasion, let us remember all the Muslims around the world and pray to Allah (swt) to enrich those who are poor, clothe the unclothed, relieve the distressed, correct the wrong in the affairs of the Muslims and cure the sick. Ameen.

As is always the case during this month, the North American community came together to contribute generously towards the Ramadhan Relief Appeal this year. Although the ultimate reward lies with Allah (SWT), I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the scores of you who helped to give hope to the hundreds of thousands of families for whom this month would otherwise have passed with much difficulty. May Allah (SWT) reward you all.

The good work and charity needs to extend beyond the month of Ramadhan though, as NASIMCO endeavors to ease the difficulties of our brothers and sisters in various parts of the world. One such cause is the deteriorating situation in Syria. As many of you are aware, the shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab (AS) has been damaged. The recent confirmation of the attacks on the resting places of Hazrat Ammar ibn Yassir and Uwais al Qarni in Raqqa, Syria is also extremely disheartening. Lives continue to be lost and people continue to be displaced as a result of the violence there and the Syrian refugees are in desperate need of assistance.

Another area of need is Pakistan, where the targeted killings of Shias is still rife. Our hearts go out to the families of the numerous innocent victims. NASIMCO condemns the attacks and the unwarranted bloodshed in these regions and we pray for stability and peace.

Finally, let us remember all those who were with us last year and are no longer here today. We thank Allah (SWT) for His infinite kindness and pray for His mercy in both Worlds.  We pray for the safety of our Maraje and the sanctity of our holy shrines everywhere.  We await the reappearance of our 12th Imam (AJF) and pray for his safety. Ameen.
