"Her Story": Prints by Elizabeth Murray, 1986-2006 
Opens Today 
Elizabeth Murray was a celebrated painter, draftsman, and printmaker. This exhibition of 42 prints presents, for the first time, all of the artist's editioned works created at Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE). Roberta Smith of the NY Times wrote "Elizabeth Murray reshaped Modernist abstraction into a high-spirited, cartoon-based, language of form." The exhibition also includes three large-scale paintings that illuminate the relationship between Murray's painting and printmaking. Read more

Professor Nancy Troy examines how Piet Mondrian's signature style of abstract art was made newly visible to broader audiences after it was appropriated by Yves Saint Laurent for his "Mondrian Look" of 1965. This lecture is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Flesh and Metal: Body and Machine in Early 20th-Century Art. Read more
