Marianist Seminarians
in Rome Assist Poor
The word "ministry" means "service." For this reason, all dimensions of Marianist seminary formation (human, spiritual, theological, Marianist and pastoral) are orientated towards forming "servants" in the image of Jesus Christ.
One important element in this formation, therefore, is the time spent each week in direct service of the poor, the elderly and the sick. The seminarians concretely spend this time in different ways: collaborating with the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa; visiting the sick with the Legion of Mary; or attending to the elderly of the San Egidio Community. In one situation, fifteen senior citizens live in a family house near the Marianist seminary in Rome.
The Community of San Egidio, which is in charge of them, offered our seminarians the possibility of collaborating with them in their caring for these seniors. It has been a special joy for the seminarians to be involved in this work.

Los seminaristas marianistas, en Roma, al servicio de los pobres en su barrio
La palabra "ministerio" significa "servicio". Por ello todas las dimensiones de la formaci�n durante el tiempo del Seminario (humana, espiritual, teol�gica, marianista y pastoral) se orientan a formar "servidores" como Cristo Jes�s.
Un elemento importante de esta formaci�n es un tiempo semanal que permite servir a los pobres, ancianos y enfermos. Los seminaristas lo viven a trav�s de diversas presencias: colaborando con las Misioneras de la Caridad de Madre Teresa, visitando enfermos con la Legi�n de Mar�a, atendiendo a los ancianos de la Comunidad de San Egidio. En particular, quince ancianos viven en una casa-familia cerca del seminario marianista, � Roma.
La Comunidad de San Egidio encargada de ellos ofreci� la posibilidad de colaboraci�n a los seminaristas para cuidarlos y los seminaristas est�n muy contentos de ello.

Les s�minaristes marianistes, � Rome, au service des pauvres de leur quartier
Le mot minist�re signifie service. Par cons�quent, toutes les dimensions de la formation pendant le S�minaire (humaine, spirituelle, th�ologique, pastoral et marianiste) sont destin�es � former des �serviteurs�, comme J�sus-Christ.
Et un �l�ment important de cette formation est un temps hebdomadaire consacr� au service des pauvres, des personnes �g�es et des infirmes. Les S�minaristes le vivent � travers diverses pr�sences : collaboration avec les Missionnaires de la Charit� de Sainte Th�r�se, visite aux malades de la L�gion de Marie, service aux anciens de la Communaut� de Sant 'Egidio. En particulier, il y a quinze personnes �g�es qui vivent dans une maison pr�s du s�minaire marianiste � Rome.
La Communaut� de Sant 'Egidio qui en a la responsabilit� offre aux s�minaristes la possibilit� de collaboration, en les laissant s'en occuper ; et les s�minaristes en sont tr�s heureux.
