Corpus Christi Centre
Our Lady of Nazareth School
-Many readers of Magnificat are aware of the wonderful gift that is the Our Lady of Nazareth School (OLN), situated in the vast Mukura slum in Nairobi, Kenya.
This oasis of care and compassion, in the midst of tremendous suffering, brings hope and support, not only to its more than 2000 students, but also to their families and the countless students who have been welcomed there over the years.
Recently, with the support of a generous parish in England, OLN opened the Corpus Christi Centre on its campus. The parish, which is also named Corpus Christi, helped the Marianists and staff at OLN to establish this program for mentally disabled and special needs children from the slum.
Many of these families previously tended to "hide these children, until they die" because of the heavy burden and the "shame" they were considered to bring upon the families.
This Centre, named after the precious gift of Christ's lasting presence among us, is truly an incarnation of the Gospel and the Body of Christ.

de la escuela Nuestra Se�ora de Nazaret
Muchos lectores del Magn�ficat conocen bien el maravilloso regalo que representa la Escuela Nuestra Se�ora de Nazaret (NSN), situada en el vasto barrio pobre de Mukura en Nairobi, Kenia.
Este oasis de cuidado y compasi�n, en medio de un tremendo sufrimiento, trae esperanza y apoyo, no s�lo a sus m�s de 2000 alumnos, sino tambi�n a sus familias y los innumerables antiguos alumnos que durante a�os estuvieron bien acogidos. Recientemente, con el apoyo de una parroquia generosa en Inglaterra, NSN abri� el Corpus Christi Centro en su seno.
La parroquia, que tambi�n se llama Corpus Christi, ayud� a los Marianistas y al personal de NSN para establecer este programa para los ni�os de la favela que son mentalmente discapacitados o tienen necesidades especiales. Muchas de estas familias tend�an previamente a "ocultar estos ni�os, hasta que mueren", debido a la "verg�enza" y la pesada carga que representaba su cuidado.
Este centro, llamado as� por el don precioso de la presencia duradera de Cristo entre nosotros, es realmente una encarnaci�n del Evangelio y el Cuerpo de Cristo.

Le Centre Corpus Christi de l'Ecole Primaire Notre Dame
Beaucoup de lecteurs de Magnificat connaissent bien le merveilleux cadeau que repr�sente l'Ecole Primaire Notre Dame de Nazareth (NDN), situ�e dans le vaste bidonville de Mukura � Nairobi, au Kenya.
Cette oasis de soins et de compassion, au milieu d'une immense souffrance, apporte de l'espoir et du soutien, non seulement � plus de 2000 �l�ves, mais aussi � leurs familles et aux innombrables anciens �l�ves qui y ont �t� accueillis au fil des ans.
R�cemment, avec le soutien d'une g�n�reuse paroisse d'Angleterre, NDN a ouvert, en son sein, le Centre Corpus Christi. La paroisse, qui est �galement nomm� Corpus Christi, a aid� les Marianistes et le personnel de NDN � lancer ce programme destin� � l'accueil, � l'accompagnement et � l'�ducation des enfants du bidonville qui ont handicap mental ou des besoins sp�ciaux.
A cause de la � honte � et du poids que repr�sentait le soin de ces enfants, leurs familles avaient tendance � les garder cach�s, jusqu'� ce que mort s'en suive! � Ce centre, nomm� d'apr�s le don pr�cieux de la pr�sence durable du Christ parmi nous, est vraiment une incarnation de l'Evangile et du Corps du Christ.

My soul glorifies the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior.
You look on your handmaid in her lowliness;
Henceforth all ages will call me blessed.
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy your name!
Your mercy is from age to age on those who fear you.
You put forth your arm in strength and scatter the proud-hearted.

You protect Israel, your servant.

Proclama mi alma la grandeza del Se�or, se alegra mi esp�ritu en Dios mi Salvador, porque ha mirado la humillaci�n de su esclava. Desde ahora me felicitar�n todas las generaciones porque el Poderoso ha hecho obras grandes por m�.
Su nombre es Santo y su misericordia llega a sus fieles de generaci�n en generaci�n.
�l hace proezas con su brazo, dispersa a los soberbios de coraz�n. Derriba del trono a los poderosos y enaltece a los humildes. A los hambrientos los colma de bienes y a los ricos despide vac�os.
