Nova Scotia man lives off the Grid!
LUNENBURG COUNTY - Edward R. Honneyman Electrical Contracting Ltd. did the electrical work on this beautiful LEED house.
The home is not tied to an electrical grid, instead it relies on a photovoltaic array to harness solar power to provide its electricity. Energy costs for the past six months have been a mere $157.

BRIDGEWATER - The chain of my favourite necklace broke after only a couple of weeks. :-(
I took it into The Java Bead (even though that's not where it was purchased). Happily for me, Melanie worked some magic and all was good! The chain she used looked better than the original And it was stronger. I was delighted.
As for the cost - almost too good to be true - far less than $10!

Domain Registry of Canada & America - Very polite crooks
(E  VERYWHERE - This past month we received several emails from clients asking "Is this a scam?" All but once the answer was "Yes."
One very official warning reads in part:
"The transfer and renewal of your domain name is not yet complete because your
domain name is currently in a "REGISTRAR-LOCK" status with your current registrar ENOM, INC.
"In order to complete the transfer and renewal, the "REGISTRAR-LOCK" status needs to be removed and an EPP Key/Authorization code needs to be obtained. Please see below for instructions on achieving this."
A new & rather convoluted scam message reads:
"Don't miss out on this offer which includes search engine submission for [your domain] for 12 months. There is no obligation to pay for this order unless you complete your payment by Feb 21, 2013. Our services provide submission and search engine ranking for domain owners. This offer for submission services is not required to renew your domain registration.
"Failure to complete your search engine registration by Feb 21, 2013 may result in the cancellation of this order (making it difficult for your customers to locate you using search engines on the web). "
All for "only" $75 a year - nearly six times the amount our client usually pays!
By the way . . . "search engine submission" is worthless!

BRIDGEWATER - A doctor will be available to see patients at SSRH with non-urgent health issues such as minor cuts or bumps, bites, sore throats, sinus problems and prescription refills:
3 to 9 pm every Monday and Wednesday in February - by appointment only
Same day appointments can be made by calling 527-5815 between 10 and noon
on the day of the clinic for that day only.
Patients with non-urgent health problems can also visit the Walk-in Clinic
operated by Bridgewater-area physicians:
5 to 7:30 pm Monday to Friday: Registration starts at 3 pm
10 am to 12:30 pm, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: Registration starts at 9 am
If you require emergency medical attention dial 911.
