Town's End Strings & Things - start of new website launched! | |
Strings, amps, keyboards, drums, books, sheet music, lessons, rentals, in-store repairs . . .
LuckyDuck photos
BRIDGEWATER - Music store extraordinaire - Town's End Strings & Things - is getting a new LuckyDuck website! And, they're going about it a little differently than most. The Townsends wanted a multi-step launch - each with two new pages. Starting with the home page and guitars & amps page.
We were delighted to make it happen the way they want. And I'm greatly enjoying the team-effort with Beth & Tricia Townsend - by phone, email and in person.
Click themusicstore.ca and see their two new LuckyDuck pages plus the rest of the original website - there's quite a difference in the two looks but it's all about the same great store.
Singer-songwriter Irish Mythen gives a Standing-O' for Strings & Things!
"Town's End Strings & Things is my go-to store. I love that it's a traditional family-run store. I take all my instruments there for Tricia to maintain and repair. Would recommend this store to anyone. Love 'em!"

We updated Bill Pyke's website a few weeks ago. He's been taking photos of his latest projects, we discussed which to use and where, then I tweaked, cropped, sized and posted them. We built six new pages including launch pages for commercial projects and boatworks. Also made changes on his original pages.
It's great seeing more information on Bill's website!

Land donations for Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy
| |
A great season thanks to local donors of land
| KINGSBURG & BEYOND - The Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy is very pleased to announce a significant land donation from Christine and James Knock.
Included in the lands are 24.5 forested acres overlooking Kingsburg Village as well as a six-acre property (with frontage on Hirtle's Beach) known as the Ochswald (Oxen Pasture), and a half-acre parcel that provides access to Kingsburg Beach.
Noreen Channels and Don Galbraith first came to Kingsburg in 1988 and, like so many other people, came over the hill and were captivated by the stunning view of Kingsburg Pond, the village and the ocean beyond. They bought their house that fall and have been coming every summer since.
In 2004, the properties across the road from their house came up for sale and they bought them in the interest of preserving that view. This Fall, Noreen and Don donated those properties to the Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy. Noreen says, "We always intended to donate them to the KCC. We're very pleased that this land is now owned by the KCC and will be preserved for all time."

Black Duck presents Jeremy Akerman
| | |
Through to November 23
LUNENBURG - Jeremy Akerman has trained in drawing, painting and sculpture at the Cardiff College of Art. He's exhibited in VANS Art in a Box; VANS Corridor Gallery; is a frequent exhibitor at Lunenburg Art Gallery; and did a one-man show at Hidden Gallery, Halifax. He's also exhibited at the Colouraturo Gallery, Indian Brook, Cape Breton.
Since leaving Art College, Jeremy focused on non-representational, so-called "abstract" work. Then in 2007, his son Garth, an ornithologist and naturalist, reawakened the love of wildlife and rural places Jeremy had experienced as a child, teenager and very young man.
When Garth was killed on March 13th 2008, the artist felt compelled to turn to landscapes, depictions of places he had visited with his son or places where he desperately wanted his company, but could no longer have it.
