School districts can piggyback on money-saving contracts available through two national cooperative purchasing programs under one roof, The Keystone Purchasing Network and PEPPM Technology Bidding and Purchasing Program. Both programs advertise and solicit sealed bids, which are awarded to the most responsive and responsible bidders. The result is higher quality at lower prices. |

Ambassador Program in Action
Mansfield ISD wrapped up it's inaugural Ambassador Training Academy this week with Friends of Texas Public Schools founder Leslie Milder and colleague Jane Braddock. Mansfield ISD now has more than 100 professionally trained Ambassadors sprinkled across the district.
Not only are they telling the Mansfield ISD story, but they are tasked with strengthening the culture of brotherhood on their campuses and within their departments. Lynn Jameson, Mansfield ISD's Special Education Coordinator and one of the recent Ambassador Training Academy graduates, was inspired by the program to drive an ice cream truck up and down the halls delivering ice cream to her colleagues.

Tell Your District's Budget Story
By Tracy Ginsburg, TASBO Executive Director
An excerpt from the article:
In many respects, budgets are similar to a story that we tell our family and friends. The budget tells the story of a district's priorities and needs in the upcoming year. It relates what the district values most to the community. There are times in the budget process when the story may also inform the community of those things which the district cannot value as highly due to limited resources and must delay to future years.
