Southbay RPC Committee Meetings - Save the Date!   
The Southbay RPC Committee will host San Jose City Staff for two separate meetings in October. On Thursday October 8th, San Jose Planning Director Harry Freitas and his staff will discuss the city's CEQA review process and policy. Then, on Thursday October 15th, San Jose Housing Manager Patrick Heisenger will present an overview of the housing impact fee pipeline process and update the committee on the roll out of the Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance update. The October 8th meeting starts at 12:15, and the October 15th meeting starts at 11:45. Both meetings will be held at HMH offices, 1570 Old Oakland Rd. #200, San Jose CA. Redwood City Affordable Housing Fees  
Redwood City will begin review of Residential Impact Fee and Commercial Linkage Fee Nexus studies prepared for Redwood City as part of the Countywide Nexus Study and will consider adoption of a fee on both residential and non-residential development. The City Council hearing is set for Monday, October 26, 2015, 7:00 p.m., at Council Chambers, City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City. The Nexus Studies will be available for public review on the City's website by Monday, October 5, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Click here for the study.
Fairfield To Seek Moratorium   
The Fairfield City Council will consider imposing a moratorium on specific development approvals within the boundaries of the Heart of Fairfield Specific Plan Area. The area runs along Texas and West Texas streets between Fairfield and Suisun City. Full Story
Dublin To Host Traffic Fee Forum  
Dublin will hold an open house on its proposed Western/Downtown Dublin Transportation Impact Fee update from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, 2015. Last updated in 2004, the revised project list and a change in the way the city calculates the per-unit rate will likely result in higher fees by mid-November.  In a meeting with a BIA|Bay Area representative, however, Dublin Transportation and Operations Manager Obaid Khan pledged to work with developers whose projects are already in the pipeline. Alameda Considers Universal Design Regs  
Alameda (city) planning staff has released draft regulations that would mandate inclusion of universal design features in 15 percent of all new residential units citywide. At BIA|Bay Area's request, the city is seeking input from the residential development community on the proposed provisions.  Staff intends to bring the ordinance to the Planning Commission for a recommendation on Oct. 26, 2015, and then to the City Council in November for adoption. East Contra Costa HCP Has Opening  
The East Contra Costa County Habitat Conservancy is seeking a private landowner and/or agriculturalist from within the district to serve on its Public Advisory Committee. The committee makes recommendations on the implementation of the East Contra Costa County Habitat Conservation Plan.  Full Story

Richmond American Homes and The New Home Company are asking for your help with bids for the 14 units of affordable housing now being built in Novato with HomeAid for Homeward Bound.  Grading is completed and the foundation work is beginning and we NEED YOUR HELP with bids to complete the project so 14 formerly homeless families will have a place to call home.
