LAFCO Dials Down Ag Policy Scope
A majority of the Contra Costa County Local Agency Formation Commission agreed to continue talking about drafting a broad agricultural land preservation policy but rejected more prescriptive tactics such as mandatory mitigation. The commissioners' conclusions, voiced during LAFCO's meeting on Aug. 12, 2015, followed a presentation of a map series that shows the vast majority of the county's agricultural parcels are already protected by the Urban Limit Line, general plan or other methods. San Jose Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Outreach
The City Housing Department has initiated a series of several public informational meetings taking place in August, September, and October. The meetings will: 1) provide information on the affordable housing impact fee (AHIF) and inclusionary housing programs; (2) discuss timelines; (3) provide additional information on the AHIF Pipeline Exemption Application Process; and (4) review the anticipated roll-out process for the IH Ordinance. Foster City Affordable Housing Impact Fees Shelved
In a noteworthy stumble for San Mateo County's 21 Elements, the Foster City Council at last week's study session voted to defer indefinitely any action on exorbitant affordable housing fees. The city recently received the Draft Grand Nexus Study prepared by Vernazza Wolfe that is intended to provide blanket nexus justification for both residential and commercial affordable housing impact fees in 15 San Mateo County jurisdictions.  Full Story

On behalf of our Chairman's Council, please join us for our first PAC Fundraiser on Friday, September 25. This will be a 3-club, 9-hole golf tournament and luncheon. Only 72 golfer spots are available, but if you're not a golfer, join us afterwards for a luncheon & reception. Tournament will be at the Pleasanton Golf Center followed by the luncheon at the Palm Pavilion at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. All payments must be made to the BuildJobs PAC.
