Drought and Housing Talk Set For July

BIA|Bay Area's South Bay RPC will host Santa Clara Valley Water District officials on July 29, 2015, for a discussion about how the drought is impacting development in the region. Water district representatives will focus on drought management regulations for new construction including current and pending proposals that prescribe landscaping, plumbing and other practices intended to reduce the use of potable water. Full Story 

Hayward To Modify Water Connection Fee Structure

Hayward is poised restructure its water connection fee program and begin assessing residential units based on actual required meter size rather than a standard ⅝" meter. If adopted as expected on July 21, 2015, the shift will likely result in higher water connection fees. Full Story

DreamCatcher Project Approved for Additional Funding!  

Great news this week on the DreamCatcher shelter for homeless teens in Oakland.  The City of Oakland approved a $500,000 Community Development grant for the project!  That combined with the HomeAid Live Appeal of $38,000 plus the Alameda Family Services fundraiser will mean this project will be built this year.  Thank you to all who supported this project with your cash donations.  You made it happen.  Click here for more info.
