Proposed Reductions in 2015 Fremont Development Impact Fees

The City of Fremont has released its 2015 updated draft development impact fees for fire, capital facilities, parks and transportation with many fee categories actually seeing reductions and only a few fees slated to increase. The fee update was completed to reflect the recently adopted citywide land use planning documents (e.g., General Plan Update and Warm Springs/South Fremont Community Plan) that anticipate development through year 2035. Full Story  

South Bay RPC Hosts San Jose City Council Candidates

BIA|Bay Area's South Bay Regional Policy Committee will host San Jose City Council District 4 candidates Manh Nguyen and Tim Orozco at its next luncheon meeting on April 22, 2015. In an important election that may well determine the swing vote on the divided San Jose City Council, Manh and Orozco were the top two vote-getters in the April 7th primary election to replace Kansen Chu, who has been elected to the California Assembly. Full Story  

San Jose General Plan 4-Year Major Review and Urban Village Planning Update

The City of San Jose continues its progress toward a General Plan Review with a discussion at the Community and Economic Development (CED) Committee meeting on Monday April 27th. The CED is a subcommittee consisting of 5 members of the City Council whose job is to review major economic, development and housing policies before they come to the full City Council. The meeting starts at 1:30pm will be held at San Jose City Hall, in Room W118 and W119. To view the CED Committee agenda click here

ISD To Consider Small Fee Increase

The Ironhouse Sanitary District Board of Directors will hold a public hearing to consider a 2.5 percent increase in trunkline and plant capacity fees for fiscal year 2015/2016. The proposed adjustments are based on the Engineering News Record Cost of Construction Index for the San Francisco Bay as of March 2015.  Full Story

HomeAid Seeks Entries Into Its

First Annual Project Playhouse

HomeAid is asking Building Industry Association member builders and interested companies who want to design and construct a playhouse or a pet playhouse for this year's Sixth Annual Hope for the Homeless Benefit to sign-up today!  The playhouses will be sold to the absolute highest bidder at a live auction on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the benefit in Walnut Creek.  HomeAid can only accept three playhouse and five pet playhouse entries, so submit your commitment form by April 15, 2015. Click here for more information!
