From our Board of Directors.....

Hello Amazing Kiva Families,

How is it March already?  Our board of directors has been busy, committee updates are listed below - contact the chairperson of each committee for more information.
  • Facilities committee - this shared committee with the Elementary/Middle School board is working diligently to secure facilities for grades 1-7 in the 2015-2016 school year - the Beech Street facility is bursting at the seams!  As soon as we have plans solidified, we'll let you know more.  Contact Julie Suckla for more information.  juliesuckla@gmail.com
  • Nominations committee is working to identify new board members for terms starting in the 2015-2016 school year.  Contact Shamai Buckel for more information.  shamai.buckel@gmail.com
  • Mission Vision committee - this committee hosted a community meeting on Wednesday, February 25th at 5:30pm to gather community feedback on our school's mission and vision.  The goal of the meeting was to make recommendations for any changes in language or implementation of the mission/vision to the board for their spring retreat.  If you missed the meeting and would like to provide feedback about our school's mission statements, contact Alexia. alexia@childrenskiva.org
  • Evaluation committee - this committee is currently working on its annual evaluation of school administration.  Our unique 3-tiered evaluation process helps give valuable feedback to our administration using best practices from the Colorado Department of Education, our own Montessori/STEAM touchstones goals, and our carefully constructed job descriptions.  Contact Anna Cole for more information. annagcole@gmail.com
  • Budget and finance committee is working with administration to prepare our 2015-2016 budget - this monumental task helps keep our program financially solvent!  Contact Chad Fish for more information.  onbialy@hotmail.com
  • Executive committee is working to plan our spring board retreat in partnership with the Children's House Board of Directors.  This is a time to review our year, plan for next year, and strategic plan for the next 50 years!  Contact Matt Clark for more information.  matthewsclark@me.com

Meetings will be held on the 3rd Monday of each month: March 16 and  April 20 from 5:00pm-6:30pm.  Meetings are held at the Beech St. campus, all are welcome to attend.

As always, your questions, concerns and ideas are important; please come see me.

Sincerely,
