Dinkbee & ExxonMobil
Dinkbee's Convenient store and ExxonMobil teamed up to make a $1,000.00 donation to SVCS.  First, Dinkbee's nominated SVCS for an ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Grant and when SVCS was awarded the grant, Dinkbee's matched it with another $500.00!

Thank you so much to Dinkbee's and ExxonMobil!  We are looking forward to supporting math and science at SVCS.

SVCS- Title I Program
Last week SVCS had the chance to participate in it's first Title I program audit.  Thanks so much to all the staff and parents that helped to shine such a positive light on our program.  The auditor, Jane Waterhouse, loved our school and all the push-in programming that we are doing!  She was impressed with each of our classrooms and had so many compliments. Jane has 84 schools that she visits so when she says you're doing a good job, she knows that for a fact.

There are always things we can do better so if you have any suggestions just let Carol know ([email protected])

Hour of Code- at SVCS
"Touting itself as the "largest learning event in history," the Hour of Code is gearing up for its 2015 kickoff, and millions of students are waiting on their moment to shine in front of a keyboard.
The one-hour computer programming activity is all about exposing learners - old and new - to computer science. Along the way, event organizers hope to close the gender gap in the computer science industry."

Or ask one of our 5th/6th graders about it!  Thanks to Margaret Kasschau for bringing it to our school and to Gabriel and Ada K. for making it happen!
