The International Hockey Federation has opened voting for it's 2nd Annual Hockey Stars! These awards are given to the best player, coach and umpire in a given year. The Athete of the Year Awards are broken down into 3 categories - Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Rising Star of the Year. Each of these awards are voted on by the fans! Coach of the Year and Umpire of the Year Awards are voted on by peers. This year, there are 3 Canadian Team members up for awards, 2 of which you can vote for now!
David Carter, Canadian goalkeeper phenom and FHBC's Senior Male Athlete of the Year, is a nominee for Male Goalkeeper of the Year. After an outstanding 2015, and a heroic shootout performance that ultimately resulted in Olympic Qualification, David is very deserving of this award. Vote for David Carter here.
Sukhi Panesar, Canadian midfielder and former star of FHBC Junior Programs, is a nominee for Male Rising Star of the Year. Steph Andrews, Canadian Women's Senior National Team assistant coach and Junior National Team head coach, is a nominee for Coach of the Year.
