Boys & Girls BC Teams at U16 National Championships
Congratulations to all four of our Provincial Teams who competed at U16 Nationals at the beginning of August. All of our athletes battled hard in the sweltering Ontario heat, and proved that they were forces to be reckoned with. The Boys BC Blue team won the Silver medal after a close sudden-death shootout loss to Ontario GTA. The Boys BC White team finished 6th after a couple of close games against Ontario East. The Girls BC White team won the Bronze medal after a shooutout against Ontario White. The Girls BC Blue team also won the Silver medal after losing to an experienced Ontario Red team in the final.
Well done to all of our athletes! We are proud of all of their hard work this summer, and we hope to see them all out again next year.

BC Wins Silver & Bronze at U18 Girls National Championships
Congratulations to our U18 Girls BC Blue & BC White Teams. Both teams worked incredibly hard during the 4-day tournament at the beginning of August. After a tight 2-1 loss to Ontario in the Semi-Final, BC White went on to beat Alberta for the Bronze Medal. BC Blue went undefeated through pool play, but were just edged out in the Final, losing 3-2 to Ontario in a Shootout. We are very proud of both of these teams for their hard work and dedication throughout the program. We look forward to seeing many of these athletes back in our programs next year, to continue building on their talent and success. Good Luck to all of our graduating players in their future academic and athletic endeavours!

BC Umpires & Officials at 2015 Pan Am Games
The 2015 Pan American Games were a successful campaign for our Men's and Women's National Teams, but they were also a success for some of our local officiating talent. In total, 5 FHBC Members were in Toronto to help make sure that the field hockey competition ran smoothly. On the men's side of the tournament, local Umpire Gavin Caldecott (North Vancouver) gained some more international experience on the field, while Chris Wilson (Victoria) worked off-field as an Assistant Umpires Manager. On the women's side, local Umpires Megan Robertson (Burnaby) and Meghan McLennan (Vancouver) continued to gain international experience and added to their already impressive Umpiring Resumes. Ali Lee (Victoria) was also hard at work at the Games as a Communications Officer.
Congratulations to all of our Officials on a job well done!
Canadian Men Qualify for World League Finals
2015 has already been a great year for the Canadian Men's National Team, but is continuing to get even better. Due to an outstanding performance at the Hockey World League Semi-Finals in June, the team has already clinched Olympic qualification. Now that India has been confirmed as the Host Nation of the Hockey World League Finals, Canada has qualified for this top-level tournament as well. Canada will face off against 7 of the top 8 ranked teams in the World from November 27th to December 6th in Rajpur, India. This tournament will prove to be a hard test of Canada's strength and determination, and will also be important to the team's preparation for the Olympics in Rio in 2016.
