Another great year at the Vancouver International Tournament! 

Teams mingled, competed, and cheered each other on over the May Long Weekend at the 2014 Vancouver International Tournament. The local clubs were well represented with teams from across the Lower Mainland taking on traveling teams from Vancouver Island, Kelowna, Queens University, Seattle, and Portland. The Women's Masters division was a great success in its first of many years to come at the tournament. Thank-you to all teams, umpires, fans, and more for another great year at the VIT! 
Nanaimo wins Spirit of Judy Broom Award 













Congratulations to the Women's Masters team from Nanaimo (and surrounding island regions) on winning the Spirit of Judy Broom award for exemplifying Judy's spirit of sportsmanship, friendship, and love of the game at the Vancouver International Tournament!

Train to Compete athletes showcase great skill and determination at regional tournament

130 Field Hockey BC regional athletes competed in the Train to Compete tournament April 25-27 for the chance to represent BC at this year's Junior National Championship in Alberta. The athletes displayed great skill and determination over the weekend. Of the athletes who competed, 56 were chosen to represent BC as part of three strong teams with hopes to win big at Nationals! 

2014 Club Championships

The 2014 Club Championships are fast approaching! The Learn to Train (U13) Festival will kick-off the tournaments on May 31 & June 1st, followed by the Train to Compete (U18) Club Championship on June 7 & 8. Lastly, the Train to Train (U15) Club Championship will take place on June 14 & 15. For more information on Club Championships and Festivals please visit our website.

Canadian women finish tour of the United Kingdom with 4-0 win over Wales! 

In preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, the Canadian Women's National team competed in a tour of the United Kingdom, finishing with a successful 4-0 victory over Wales. "It was a great way to finish an invaluable tour with both a positive performance and a positive result," says Women's National Team head coach Ian Rutledge. The women are now back in Canada to continue training as the final roster for the Games will be announced in June. 
Canadian men take home silver from the 2014 Champions Challenge! 

The Canadian men won silver at the 2014 Champions Challenge in Malaysia, losing to a strong Korean team ranked 7th in the world. The result is the team's best ever at the Champions Challenge and ties their best finish at a major International event. In addition to winning silver, Canada's very own Gabriel Ho-Garcia from Burnaby was named Best Junior Player of the tournament!
FIH 9 world-class goals with 9 days to go until the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014! 

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has put together a countdown of world-class goals by athletes and teams that will be participating in the upcoming Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014, May 31 to June 15. Check out the 9 world-class goals by World Cup athletes!
