Mark Baggott wins Sport BC Presidents Award 

In recognition of Mark's contribution to men's field hockey, particularly his commitment to junior boy's field hockey development and thereafter junior field hockey development as President of the Victoria Junior Field Hockey Association, we are pleased to recognize Mark as the Sport BC Presidents Award recipient for 2014! Ali Lee takes on new role with International Hockey Federation in Switzerland 

We would like to wish Ali Lee the best of luck as she embarks on a field hockey adventure to Switzerland as the new Communications Coordinator with the International Hockey Federation. Ali has been involved in Field Hockey BC programming as a player and as a coach in our Regional and Team BC programs. Her passion and dedication will be missed!

Boys & Girls Learn to Train Development Program registration is now open! 

Designed for athletes 10-13 years old, our Learn to Train Development Program is for athletes looking to learn more about the sport of field hockey and to improve their skills. The program will take place during the Spring and Summer of 2014. Learn more about our boys and girls programs and register now! Deadline is March 30th. 

Call for Umpires for FHBC Festivals & Tournaments 

We are looking for umpires with provincial rating or higher for our Train to Train (U15) Festival, Train to Compete (U18) Tournament, and the Vancouver International Tournament (the VIT). For more information please contact Nancy Plechaty at nancy@fieldhockeybc.com.

March 17th, is your last chance to register for the Vancouver International Tournament (the VIT!) taking place over the May Long Weekend. UBC Men's Field Hockey Team retains varsity status 

We are pleased to report that the Men's Field Hockey Team has retained Varsity status at the University of British Columbia. The team has been given time to pursue other funding options in the community. For more information visit the UBC Thunderbirds website. 

Meet the Men's National Team as they compete in the Azlan Shah Tournament   

 

While competing in the Azlan Shah Tournament in Malaysia, the Canadian Men's National Team has been sharing their experience with families, friends, and fans back home through daily blog posts on their Facebook page. Prepare to laugh, feel inspired, and meet the men who represent Canadian Field Hockey! Visit their Facebook page. 

Canada vs. USA: Women's Field Hockey  

The Women's National Team continues to improve with each game they play in the test series against a strong American team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. "Our focus for this series is on perfecting key components of our game ahead of the upcoming events in late July and early September, and there is nothing like putting our game to the test against a very well prepared and experienced USA team", says head coach Ian Rutledge. The team is building towards the Commonwealth Games among other upcoming competitions. Visit Field Hockey Canada's website for more information.
