Regional and Community Coaches advance their coaching education at FHBC Seminars
72 coaches are advancing their coaching knowledge by attending over 250 modules of the new NCCP Coach Education Pathway. Included in this group are 16 Regional Coaches sponsored by Field Hockey BC. Seminars have been held in the Lower Mainland and the Island, with an upcoming seminar taking place in the Interior. Field Hockey BC has also invested in 12 Learning Facilitators across the province to deliver the new NCCP courses. Learn more about the new Coach Education Pathway.
Field Hockey BC's Umpire Education & Mentorship Program
New to umpiring or looking to improve your skills? Our Umpire Education and Mentorship Program will take place during the Junior season (April to June) and will present participants with the opportunity to learn from some of BC's best field hockey umpires! Islanders win the 2014 BC Senior Indoor Tournament
Congratulations to the Islanders for winning the 2014 BC Senior Indoor Tournament! The University of Victoria took second place, followed by the University of British Columbia in third. Girls Learn to Train Development Program registration opens in March
Field Hockey BC's Learn to Train development program is designed for young athletes, 10-13 years old, looking to learn more about the sport of field hockey and to improve their skills. The program will take place during the Spring and Summer of 2014 and is designed to run in conjunction with the BC Junior leagues and associated FHBC events. If you're looking for a competitive and/or social tournament, the VIT has it all! Participate in one of five divisions including a women's competitive and a mixed social division. Hang out with fellow field hockey players in the beer garden and enjoy some great food. Taking place over the May Long Weekend, the VIT is less than three months away and the deadline for team deposits is Monday, March 17th! 2014 Men's Field Hockey Olmypic Endowment Fund accepting applications
The Men's Field Hockey Olympic Endowment Fund is dedicated to promoting and supporting high performance of both senior and junior men's field hockey in Canada. Targeted areas for funding include promotion and development of field hockey skills, coaching for senior and junior men's teams in Canada, training facilities, equipment and general participation. Canadian Men Qualify for 2014 Youth Olympic Games
After finishing second at the Men's Pan American Youth Championship, Canada has qualified for the Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China in August 2014! The men competed in the Hockey5s version of the game, defeating USA in the semi-final and coming up short against Argentina in the final. For more information visit the Field Hockey Canada website.
