Inspiring Memories
Bonnie Hilory, Executive Director
With Thanksgiving around the corner I find myself reflecting about my "firsts."
I vividly remember my first staff meeting, my first board meeting, our 4-day Design Charrette (to listen to our community and capture feedback), our weekend family workshops which entertain all generations, my first book signing (with the amazing women featured in the Trailblazers book), our first member event (private tour of Flying Heritage Collection and watching Space Ship One being hung), our first After Hours event for members on the Strato Deck, my first Boeing airplane delivery at Future of Flight (Air New Zealand), my first Wine, Wings & More event, my first Gala & Auction (our non-profit's 4th), and last week my first Astronaut event with Chris Hadfield (which was sold out at 400).
I am reminded that our future is bright. Our dedicated staff, talented volunteers, thoughtful board leaders, and supportive partners continue to work together to create positive experiences for our members, visitors, and guests.
As we enter Thanksgiving and the holiday season, please consider spending some time with us at Future of Flight on a Boeing Tour, joining our Education team with Maker Mondays and our 3D printer lab (3 to 8 p.m.), or Weekend Family Workshops (held each Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., or our next FoFF member event which is on December 2, a breakfast here and then a private tour of Historic Flight Foundation.
With appreciation,

"I BELIEVE I CAN FLY"
4TH ANNUAL GALA &
AUCTION IS A SUCCESS!
The Future of Flight Foundation 4th Annual Gala & Auction raised over $182,000 to further our mission of inspiring students to select STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)
careers and building a workforce with capable, prepared, diverse talent.
John Curley of KIRO 97.3 FM was the auctioneer extraordinaire and Russ Cimber, Production Director for KIRO 97.3 FM, 710 ESPN, and 770 KTTH, was Master of Ceremonies. After the cocktail reception and silent auctions, the guests moved to the exhibit gallery for dinner and an exciting live auction.
Honorary Chairs were Elizabeth & Dr. Jim Lund.
Elizabeth is the Vice President & General Manager of the 777 Program & Everett Site, The Boeing Company, and Jim is a physician in Internal Medicine at Pacific Medical Centers. Our Honorary Chairs ensured the Fund-a-Need was the most memorable portion of the evening and led the way to raising $46,275 for the Financial Assistance Fund for students and schools in need so they can experience our aerospace related STEAM education programs. View the video here. If you were unable to attend the Gala & Auction, and would like to contribute to the Fund-a-Need program, please click here.
Sponsors included: UPS Provider Supply Chain Solutions, The Boeing Company, Snohomish County Paine Field Airport, Aero Law Group, Emirates Airlines, NW Duty Free Stores, Inc, Alaska Airlines, People's Bank, ABC Rentals by CORT, Airfield Estates Winery, Staybridge Suites, Gobe Design and Production, and El Gaucho Events.

ALL CALL FOR TEACHER
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS
We are seeking new members for our brand new Teacher Advisory Board (TAB). If you have participated in a Future of Flight education program sometime in the last two years, or are planning to participate in education programs in the near future - WE WANT YOU!
Come share about your experiences, and provide valuable feedback for us as we reflect on, and create, educational programs.
Be the first to join our Teacher Advisory Board (User Group)! The Teacher Advisory Board is comprised of educators and youth leaders who have experience using our programs. We'll be meeting quarterly to provide feedback and recommendations for curriculum alignment, ideas for teacher professional development workshops, and suggestions for educationally relevant programs and events. As a TAB member, you will be helping the Future of Flight Foundation maximize the efficacy of our efforts to meet the needs of our educational community. TAB members also qualify to receive program discounts when they register their class. The first two meetings will be a deep dive on up to two
programs, and the third meeting will be focused
on planning for the 2015-16 school year, including reviewing and recommending professional development options, changes in 2014-2015 for the 2015-16 Education Planning Guide, and financial assistance modifications and educational program offerings. We look forward to having our first TAB meeting on Saturday, January 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Future of Flight Aviation Center. Contact Amanda@futureofflight.org to express your interest.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Our philosophy: Future of Flight Foundation will never deny a child (under 18) participation because of an inability to pay.
We dream of inspiring students to consider a career in a STEAM related field, and further in an aviation-related career. We aim to develop educational programs which are consistently high-quality. To achieve this, more student impact is needed. We will achieve this by offering a classroom or non-profit financial assistance for groups as well as individuals. Thanks to the generous support of our donors we are able to fulfill our goal to inspire young people to explore careers in STEAM fields. To request a financial assistance application, please contact amanda@futureofflight.org.
